1971 Volkswagen Westfalia Camper Bus from Colorado with 154,000 miles. Well documented with long history of over $10,000 in maintenance in the past including rebuilt 1914cc engine with twin carburetors. Transmission was also replaced at the time of engine build. Receipts dating back from 1999 all included with the sale. This bus lived a long life in Colorado and was subsequently shipped to North Carolina where it began an amateur but well done resurrection. I then purchased this bus from the owner who had lost interest, time and money to complete it. The bus started as a solid machine with all original metal however it did receive minor body work(rear wheel wells and driver side rocker) and paint prior to me purchasing it. It was well in need of interior attention and a good once over. The exterior is bright white and shines like new after a good buff. It has imperfections throughout the body however these can only be seen up close. There is a small dent here and there but overall looks great going down the road. The glass all looks great with no leaks. Buyer will also receive the original equipment crank out windows seen in the picture which carry a very high value. The doors and seals are in good condition and the slider works as it should with no issue. The bus sits on 4 good Hankook load specific tires with whitewalls, the wheels have been plasti dipped but and will show the original white paint underneath if buyer prefers that look. The brakes are in good working order as well. The 1914cc engine was professionally overhauled previously in Denver, Colorado by Painters Grinding Small Car engine shop. This shop also replaced the transmission at that time. The engine is equipped with twin carbs and runs flawlessly with ample power. The transmission and clutch are in great working order and work without issue. There are no engine or transmission leaks present. The exhaust is in good shape as well. Included with the sale are brand new left and right heat exchangers if the buyer would prefer heat. The bus runs and drives down the road nicely and is super fun to drive. The previous owner drove it from North Carolina to New York just last summer. I just installed a new Interstate battery in this bus as well. It is charging fine as well. The interior is equipped with new black carpet throughout the entire bus. The front seats are in good shape and our original. They show signs of wear but very useable as is. The rear seats and bed cushion have been recovered and look great with matching curtains. The pop top canvas is in good useable condition and equipped with a new upper sleeping cot. I have the original but it has a slight rip in it. I will include it with the sale. There is a cot that goes over the front seats that is in good shape as well(see photo). The bus comes with the fridge/sink combo that appear to be in working order. The foldout tables work perfectly. There is a snap on style screen kit that comes with the bus also so you can keep back gate up and not allow bugs in while camping!!!! The undercarriage is in very good shape as it had been under coated several times in its life according to documents/receipts. This is a fantastic ready to drive and use 1971 Westfalia Camper that looks great going down the road. It is not Barrett Jackson show quality and is not priced as such. It is a great weekend campmobile or daily driver that should provide the new owner countless hours of fun. If you are looking for a perfect 1971 VW bus move on please. This is an awesome bus and ready for the road but not perfect. Many more photos available upon request. Ask as many questions as you wish please. I am normally quick with communication. I have seen what sellers are asking for these VW's, keep in mind this is a 71 with the small taillights( a real bus in my opinion), not a 72 or newer. If you are wanting a 1971 VW Westfalia that can be utilized right away at a reasonable price this may possibly be the one. Much lower than dealer pricing or the outrageous money people are asking for these things. Please bid or buy only if you are serious. I am easy to work with and am proud of my 100% positive feedback. Buyer is responsible for the shipping cost however I can store the bus in my shop at no charge until shipper picks it up. $200 immediate non refundable PayPal deposit required at end of auction. Thank you and good luck!!!!! On Feb-02-18 at 05:49:48 PST, seller added the following information: 02/02/2018. I have received countless email and questions regarding the bus. First, please do not bid on this item if you do not intend to pay. I tried to describe bus in full detail. There are no known mechanical issues. It's running, driving and camp worthy right now. I have taken several more close up photos of the body, floor etc and have them on my phone. I can not add them to the posting because I already have 24 and ebay won't let me upload anymore. I will send them via email or phone if anyone would like further pictures. I have been answering emails as fast as possible. Thank you for all the interest. I believe the new buyer will enjoy this bus. The reserve has been met so happy bidding and good luck.
