The car went on to be extremely successful all over the world and "Volkswagen Culture" defined generations of Americans. In July 2003, the last Beetle rolled off the production line in Mexico. Over 21 million units were produced and the little Beetle came in fourth place in the worldwide "car of the century" competition in 1999. It sits on steel wheels and has a nice black convertible top with a matching boot cover. The interior is very clean, with nice tan vinyl seats and a wood trimmed dashboard. Everything is original apart from the Phase Linear head unit. the ubiquitous 1,600cc flat 4 and mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, this Beetle is an excellent driver and has all the pep you need to enjoy it. It has been very well cared for and was recently treated to a new clutch. It also comes with the original jack stand as well!
