Description of 1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

After 40+ years ofrestoring VW's, I decided to sell my last project, amid year 1969 Ghiawhich was an important transitional time for the VW factory. I have had the car for about 10 years now, and during that time have gone through every system and subsystem, lubed, calibrated, cleaned, replaced, rebuilt anything that needed it. Front to back. It was not a body off rebuild, never felt it was needed. The new owner can take it to the next level for sure, or keep it as is, take it to shows, cars and coffeeand receive lots of attention.

The paint is an older thin lacquer, painted over several previous applications. Good for now, butnot an award winning paint. Receipts for bodywork from 1980 on driver rear and front fenders. Have original receipts ofall themaintenance done over the years.Door gaps are super, heater channels are super. Car is from Texas and Colorado so only very little surface rust underneath. Interior still smells like a new car, TMI top, Sewfine seat covers. Interior is perfect. Interior includes OEM Hurst shifter and EMPI carriage steering wheel circa 1970's.

Enginerebuilt and strokedto 2007cc. Kept it mild as Idon't like speeding tickets. Italian Weber 40 DCNF carbs, super easy to work on. Engle 110 cam, new heads with slightly larger valves.Buyer will also receive second stock engine case, complete stock intake and carbs with modifications. Has all original German sheet metal and shrouding and original tar boards in engine bay.

Purchase will also include every factory part that I removed, acomplete set of Porsche Mahle alloywheels, 2 types of wheel caps,3 other sets of exhaust, rear hood from 1974 for air flow, original rubberfloor mats or what is left of them, rear engine sheet metalto replacewhere the batteryacid ate away the metal in a small area,so typical for these cars. So bring a truck to carry all the extras because they sure won't fit into the back seat.

The pics show well I hope, but really looks better in person. There will be no disappointments. Includes original window sticker, receipts going back to purchase date, owners manual - the heritage of this vehicle is awesome.

Any questions or for more pics, let me know. Thanks.
