Description of 1973 Volkswagen Sport Karmann Ghia Limited Edition Sports Ghia |
1973 VW Volkswagen Limited Edition Rare Sports Ghia Convertible Yellow I am pleased to offer this very rare 1973 Sports Edition VW Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Very nice/vintage condition. Super clean and well documented. Less than 100,000 original miles. Purchased in California. The car has been in dry weather most of its life and has spent all of its recent time in a climate controlled car garage while in GA. Owner has the original window sticker (see picture section) documenting the fact that this is a “Sports Edition†Ghia. The sports rims are in great condition. VIN: 1432620034. Some history according to the previous owner: Previous owner acquired this car from the original owner. He was 83 years old. This is a rust free California car. It spent most of its life in the dry Midwest. AZ and NM. The car has less than 100,000 miles on it from new. It has spent the last 30 years as a weekend car that was parked in the garage at all times. It was rarely driven over the last 5 years do to the owners age. He did tell me that he would start it often. I replaced the interior seats (brown), door panels (cream) and sound deadening material. I refurbished most of the original carpet with quality stuff. I basically tore down the interior to the pan and replaced or refurbished everything. The car smells new inside. The sport wheels are beautiful with the center caps clean and undamaged. The top is great with no leaks or tears. The top was replaced in late 1990’s by a professional company. I believe the car had a respray. The decals are no longer with the car. This car was purchased on June 11, 1973 from Ogner Motors in Hollywood California. This dealership was seven miles from the famous Competition Motors. The window sticker acknowledges the fact that this is a Limited Edition Sports Ghia. This car has great provenance. **There are a few marks on the car as you can see on the pictures. In Summary: – A very rare 1973 Limited Edition Sports Ghia convertible – You just don’t see these around very often – A gem for the VW collector Vehicle Condition: I have not personally inspected this vehicle. I am relying on the pictures and descriptions provided by the seller. I can tell based on pictures and conversations with the owner that this 1973 VW is a real rare gem and a great buying opportunity. Please feel free to ask questions prior to bidding. I will make sure to get every questions answered in a timely basis. I invite and encourage any interested party to inspect this car in Atlanta, GA. |
