Description of 1973 Volkswagen Thing |
1973 VW Thing, all original except wheels, (which are better than original).Vehicle was restored several years ago (custom off white paint, perfect)Ipurchased for collection. No accidents, undercarriage sprayed no rustanywhere. Engine rebuilt by prior owner. I have done minor improvementsto original such as find and have installed the original steering wheel, shift knob, accelerator, better tie connections for fuel lines, fuel tank vent lines replaced, correct badging, modification of driver seat rails for tall driver, tires excellent, wheelsexceptional, I will double check and add information on other specifics, hasoriginal heater unit but disconnected for safety. It is always covered inmy garage photos are taken at my office (also covered parking) and local beach. The cover comes with it, trickle charger on it at the house typically, newbattery not long ago. I just do not drive it very often and I don’t wantmy wife or children driving in it. Theyare just not as safe as new Suburban with all the airbags. I have had anopen check book maintaining this vehicle I will add more information to this advertisementas questions arise. There is a local VW expert that has worked on it forme. I do not need to sell it. It belongs with the right collector thatloves it. I live in Hope Ranch Santa Barbara. Imaintained this vehicle as I do my airplane so do not waste my time thinkingthat a low baller is going to be considered. No dreamers, I am told it is worth$35K as it is. It is just for the collector that loves it, Ihave too many cars and should clear out a few toys that are not being enjoyedas they should. This is the best "Thing" I have ever seen. |
