Description of 1971 Volvo Other |
Thank you viewing this offering.I had some expertise with these some years ago . I even had a garage full of parts that I sold earlier this year. It figures........ I got a phone call from a fellow member of my poker group. He is a pilot for United and has a private hanger here locally. Seems the airport authority wanted all non airplane related items removed from the hanger or risk eviction. The fellow that owned this [ since 1984 ] is close to 70 % done on his scratch built plane. Most of my friends know I have a soft spot for the 1800 series cars---so,he had me call the owner and after some discussion ---I purchased the car. I wish I could tell you it is a cream puff-IT ISN'T !. But, it seems to have all the parts except the surround, grill and front emblem. It has the center caps for the wheels, trim rings for headlights, chrome trim, new fuel pump in the box, center console, and drivers door card. Has the tail light, 2 new gaskets, and the rubber cover for the sides. Has new gaskets for exhaust manifold. The headliner is intact, the engine spins freely, and the car rolls freely. The jack and handle are present. The gas tank was emptied in 2008 and is free of rust particulate.I should mention the drivers door. Obviously not original. Previous owner said someone backed into it in 1991 and rather than fixing it---he replaced it. Keys are in the ignition tumbler. The pictures are pretty revealing and the biggest issue is the front jacking points---with the passenger side the worst. The car has been in Florida since 1984--I am unsure where it was before---but the previous owner got the car in Tampa--so it may be an original Florida car. My plan was to convert to a manual shift--and I have a local contact that may help securing an M41,OD, pedals etc.In conclusion, I have a clear title.Buyer arranges shipping. Car offered as is /found with no warranty or refunds. As always--I ask you review my 20 years of feedback and here is my ph # for contact:: 1-321-7four nine-7twofive seven EST before 10PM please.
