1989 VOLVO 780

In 2014 at 190 k miles the following work was done on this car at Alan Auto Volvo Service:

Replace differential with good used, derust and paint parts an necessary, replace any bad rear suspension bushings, replace input shaft seal and flush and refill differential

Replace main fuel pump, necessary hose, and mounting plate

Replace rear bumper and shocks with good used

Repair some rust areas in floors and rear quarters and paint to match

Replace all speakers with Alpine

Refinish wood trim in interior

Replace starter with new Bosch

Replace rear brake rotors, all emergency shoes and cables, pads, even backing plates

Replace front brakes rotors and pads and bleed system

Replace a/c compresso, accumulator, hoses as necessary, and recharge system

Flush transmission

Replace all necessary relays (hot spot, main fuel, trans. up-shift)

Replace drive shaft center bearing and support

Replace exhaust kit with new Volvo

Replace door seals

Replace ball joints and 4 wheel align (independent rear suspension)

Replace transmission rear seal

Replace side trim with new Volvo

Replace fuel filter

2 new snow tires mounted on matching rims

A check-up was recently performed a copy of which can be e-mailed on request.

This car is a great driver which still looks very nice albeit is not a show car:

The driver's seat stitching is pulling out around the center section

The headliner is starting to sag (as they always do)

There is a smallish paint blister on the roof near the rear window (see picture)

There is a dent above the rear bumper

The driver's seat control works intermittently

This is one of the coolest and most stylish cars Volvo has produced. It's exotic Italian styling in an easy to live with mechanical package. The 4 cylinder turbo has excellent acceleration and is so easy to maintain being a non-interference engine. As you can tell from the list of work done no expense was spared to keep this car in good running and cosmetic condition.
