Description of 1986 Volvo 240 DL |
1986 Volvo 240 (244) DL, Automatic The GOOD: New timing belt, pulleys, crankshaft gear with less than 500 miles on it. Car starts and runs like a Swiss clock. Car has brand new headlight lenses and timing cover. IPD overdrive bypass kit was also installed approximately 200 miles ago. The drivetrain is extremely solid in this car.......Cleans up Great ...Sharp Car The BAD: Unfortunately, this car has endured 30+ New England winters, rust on the frame, rockers, wheel wells, etc. BUT Quite repairable if you want ( or just drive i, ) .. I am the second owner of this car, and the odometer gear broke at approximately 157,000 miles before I purchased it from a family member I put probably another 5,000+ miles on the car under my ownership, but if I had to guess, the mileage is probably somewhere near 200,000. AC does not work, but the heat works perfectly. Tires are just O, very useable Driver's side tail light lens is cracked. Coolant reservoir cap hisses a little bit. Radio works, but antenna is stuck in "UP" position. Car was in a small fender bender ( in a parking lot ), and the bumper is slightly skewed, but can be adjusted. The car sometimes clunks over bumps, and I suspect trailing arm bushings are worn. Both door pockets are broken in the usual plac, but the interior is in good shape. few oil drips but nothing crazy ..... Car driven daily until about a year ago ( has been garaged since ) PLEASE ASK QUESTION, I WILL TRY TO ANSWER Important:- SOLD AS IS WHERE IS- Buyer is responsible for shipping costs - A non-refundable $400 deposit is due when the auction ends.
