Description of 1947 Willys

Jeep is located in Rancho Cucamonga, a 91737.This Willys is a true survivor, nd example of how these were pieced together when needed. This jeep was made into a M38 for a movie production a few years ago, sed, nd then parked. I bought it a month and a half ago to enjoy with my kids but a sudden health issue I found out about in mid July has forced the sale. I had no intention of selling this jeep!As you can see from the custom paint I had done last month, s well as all the work and parts I have even ordered this month, hat I had no intention of selling it.I will try to explain everything I can about this Willys M38/MB.The tub is a MB. I believe it is a 1945 Willys. I can't find the serial numbers anywhere, ut the previous owners must have before they boxed the front of the frame. The rear storage boxes have therectangular spot for the button switch. There are no buttons.I believe Ford GPW's and MB's serial numbers are in the same places. The sides have been had bondo applied, o the tool grooves can only be seen from the inside.I drained and removed the rear end cover to apply a new gasket, nd discovered the jeep has a Detroit Locker rear end.The engine is what I have been told is an F-Head engine, ith an electric fuel pump, nd a 1958 Holley 1904 Ford Truck carburetor. The oil filter is not stock as well. The oil gauge works but is leaking as seen in the pictures. The temperature gauge works. The jeep is 12 volt. There is no glass in the windshield, ut I have the gaskets. I was going to order the glass next week. The following is what I have added to it in the last month. A new voltage regulator, new gas cap, rand new tires (July 22nd) at a cost of $600, he Kilroy War Here, illys and tribute paint. I have also added the window mounts or hinges, ooden hood blocks, nd have new in boxes the front end shock mount plates and mounting hardware as the ones on the jeep will need to be replaced at some time in the future. I was also had the wheels painted green July 29th.The glove box data plates were installed last week. I also added a rear license plate frame and light.I also have a custom roll bar that comes with the jeep.I have driven this jeep everyday for the past month and a half with no problem. The battery support plate is pretty much gone, ut I have secured the battery so it is safe to drive around town. The body looks pieced together in the floor boards with plates of steel. There is rust all over the floor board on the bottom of the jeep, ut it still seems solid as far as the body. The rear of the body was at one time cut off and then welded back onto the jeep. I was told they did this after the war to scrap them, nd then welded then back to sell them. The rear shocks are mounted to the rear frame.I believe the serial number of the jeep puts it at a 1945 tub. It was first sold in 1947 so it is considered a 1947 with the DMV and on the pink slip. The jeep drives nice, nd has that old jeep sound. There is no air cleaner, s the engine belongs in a high hood Willys. The carb on there now leaks a tiny bit, ut I have had no problems driving it everyday. By that I mean I feel safe with my kids in it with the tiny leak it has. It is more of a seep after I drive. The jeep leaks a little bit of oil and a little gear oil as expected, ut nothing major at all. It looks like the oil pan gasket and gear box gasket could use a replacement in the next few months. I don't need to ad oil however, o it isn't a big leak. The fuel gaugedoesn'twork, ut I added a new fuel sending unit gasket anyway. Two little drop the size of a dime. The engine runs right around 145 degrees, ven when I drive it in 90 degree weather.I just purchased a rebuilt Holley 1904 which will also go with the Willys. The footlocker and the American Flag on the dash do not go with the jeep, ut the two ammo boxes, he first aid kit, hich are bolted or screwed on, nd the C-ration box does. They are covering the boxes in the rear that do not have door.I also added a corny air raid siren to it has well.Payment must be cash only, ith a non-refundable down payment via Paypal for $500.The jeep must be picked up within 5 days of auction's end.Sold as is, o returns.I will work with a shipper, ut it must be picked up within the 5 day time frame, nd on my timeschedule.I have a clear title in hand.
