Description of 1987 BMW 3-Series

Very nice 5-speed manual transmission dolphin grey exterior black top and interior ~165Kmi many extras also some issues.Extras: Mille Miglia Spider 16in wheels w 3-season sport tires(BF Goodrich Z-force sport 205/50 ZR-16)near new cond lowered sport suspension w K-MAC camber kit (keeps the insides of the tires from wearing down prematurely) Racing Dynamics side skirt/rear apron w BMW front lip Remus stainless muffler. Top replaced w BMW factory duplicate (heavy cloth) when I bought the car around 2002 have maintained it very nicely ever since back plastic window is clear and virtually scratch-free. Also refurbished the interior removed interior carpet sanded and applied rhino liner coating to the lower interior and trunk (to remedy impact of past leaks through old top that was on the car when I purchased it). Original seats have been reupholstered in black vinyl (hold up better than leather and match other vinyl interior panels/dash better). The trunk has a custom interior/carpet with Alpine amplifier Also Sony CD/AM/FM head unit and custom sound system wiring. Has Conforti performance chip stainless braided brake lines new battery.Issues: power steering not working failed NJ emissions (I replaced cat conv once the car idles a little low in RPM and the NJ inspection personnel don't do much anymore to heat the car up above idle for the emissions test the way they sometimes used to to help you pass) may be due to O2 sensor or the Conforti chip no AC (components removed) odometer plastic gears broken (not lapping miles can be replaced easily) small crack in windshield mid-way up driver's side A-pillar convertible hatch release lever broken (fairly easy to replace module from dealer) crack from small rock in passenger-side fog light lens missing passenger-side rear marker light.I am selling this car in as-is condition. I used to have time for maintaining and upgrading it but with home family and career it is used very little want my garage space for other things. The engine runs very well very smooth car handles extremely well. The clutch engages gradually i.e. is not worn or glazed from over-revving etc. The paint is in decent condition except on the hood there is some pretty significant sun-fade.The top does not leak except under major downpour conditions if the total water flowing over the sealing area between the front and rear windows is too heavy some inward dripping can occur. The sealing pressure of the windows to each other and the top is difficult to improve but someone more experienced with tweaking this might be able to get it super-water tight. Transmission fluid replaced with Redline MTL for much smoother shifting. The trim panel below the steering wheel was removed when I took the photos - I have replaced it.Adult-owned - I'm 43 and have owned the car for 13 years.Knowing the following this car has I would expect an E30 enthusiast to find this car appealing - the reserve it set low to compensate for the issues and there are a lot of nice extras to boot. I think I have represented the car honestly and accurately. I think it's a great car but just not for me anymore I'd like to see it go to someone who has the time and capability of fixing the issues and being able to enjoy using it. I would prefer not to ship the car unless the buyer handled all arrangements and had it picked up at my home. I'm flexible to work with people on local pick-up options.
