Description of 1968 Chevrolet Caprice

This 1968 caprice wagon has served me well for the last 15 years, ut I have too many projects and now it's time for it to find a new home. With 9 seats, t can cart around your family with ease and style.

This is an original AC car. I have all the stock AC parts, ncluding the heater box and cage. The previous owner removed it. I also have all the dash trim as well. The rear handles were shaved by the previous owner to give it the Nomad look.

The engine is a .30 over 350, ith a balanced and blue printed bottom end. Cam is a comp extreme energy with .477/.480 lift and 224/230 duration. Heads are GM Vortec, ith mild porting, nd valve job. Intake is an Edelbrock RPM, opped off with a Holley Double Pumper. Distributor is GM HEI. This motor dyno'd at 396HP and 418ft/lbs. It exhales through hooker long tube headers, nd a dual exhaust with Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. It fires right up and has a very nice lopey idle to it, ith great off idle and part throttle drivability. Even without a fan shroud, his motor will idle at 190 all day long in 90 degree weather.

Trans is a TH400 built by HP Transmissions, ated up to 550HP. This trans is extremely durable. While cruising under light loads, t shifts smoothly. If you really get on it, r shift it manually, he trans and motor combo will still chirp the tires going into second gear. This combo has never let me down.

The rear end was built 8K miles ago with new gears, eals, nd gaskets. It is a 3.73:1 rear axle ratio. This gear set up is a big improvement over the stock 3.08's with just the right amount of grunt off the line and high way cruising RPM. There is no driveline vibration, lunks, r howling with this set up. I chose to leave it a non-posi rear end for better control in the rain. This is more of a family cruiser rather than a race car.

It is a disc brake car, nd uses 69 Impala disc brake parts, ot an aftermarket kit. It has a dual reservoir master, s well as power brakes and steering. The front suspension needs new tie rod ends and ball joints, s you can feel a slight vibration at highway speed, ut it is totally drivable. It also has 2 new front tires with less than 500 miles on them.

The front passenger fender is in primer due to a hit and run. It was backed into, o the dent was pulled out and primed.

It has the normal rust spots for a GM B-body, hich you can see in the pictures.

The interior is in OK condition. The driver seat is the only one ripped. It has seat belts throughout, o you can feel safe taking your family out in it the day you get it. Carpet is faded but intact.

Wheels are Daisy 5 spokes, ith a cast center and a brushed rim.

It has a clean title in my name. This is a great foundation for a family cruiser, nd it has been a fantastic car for many years for me. I hate to see it go, ut it's time to thin the heard. $500 deposit due at the close of the auction. Payment is due in full 3 days after the bidding closes. I prefer Electronic Transfer. If payment is sent by check, will wait for funds to clear before shipping the car. I have sold cars over Ebay before, nd I can help with shipping.
