Description of 1971 Dodge Charger R/T

Real R/T 440 car. High end rotisserie restoration with some tasteful upgrades.
EXTERIOR: Wow, amazing paint throughout and under this car. Fit and finish is far superior to when it was new. Precision fit body panels, laser beam straight from every angle. It is completely smooth along the bottoms. I don't see any bubbling, cracking or issues. The paint is polished out like red glass. The jambs are just as slick. The black R/T stripes were very nicely applied. It has the Sport hood, vertical louvers on the doors, sport mirrors. It also has front and rear spoilers. The glass looks like it's been replaced. Door handles are new, stainless trim is new. The bumpers are color keyed to the car. Tail light panel is restored. It has new window seals and weather strips. 15 inch Rallye wheels look like they're new with BF Goodrich tires, taller in back.
INTERIOR: Very impressive interior. It has genuine hand stitched leather. It was lined with sound deadener. The door panels are completely wrapped in leather and suede with red stitching, the rear side panels match. Seats are soft leather with red stiching. Custom suede headliner with overhead console with red stitching. The floor console is new and it has suede trim with red stitching around the slap stick shifter. Brand new dash pad with a the suede red stitched insert. The metal inside the car is painted real slick. Really nice looking custom instrument panel with some silver gauges. It also has a new Tuff grip steering wheel that's leather-wrapped. It has a unique premium grade carpet on the floor with matching floor mats. The rear speaker shelf, seatbacks and kick panels are wrapped in leather. There is an auxiliary plug and a 12 volt receptacle in the console to plug in your music. There are 6x9 speakers in back and an amp under the seat.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Wow, the metal in here is also just as nice as the outside. It literally looks like someone buffed and polished the engine bay. Every inch right down to the low spots is smooth and glossy. The 440 Magnum engine and all the components are very fresh. The motor is painted red, it has a high rise Edelbrock Performer intake with the big dual feed Demon carburetor and a Billet distributor. Fresh set of coated Hedman headers. It's dressed up with a nice set of matched finned aluminum valve covers and air cleaner. The alternator is new, has billet brackets and pulleys with a serpentine belt system. It features power steering. A big aluminum radiator with dual electric fans keep it cool. All the components- wiper motor, master cylinder, horns wiring look new. The VIN number on the cowl is under the wheather strip and matches the VIN on the dash.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The metal and the paint is amazing in the trunk as well. It literally looks like it's polished too. It has a Rallye wheel spare and a complete, restored jack assembly. New mat, weather strip, latch and jacking instructions sticker.
UNDERSIDE: It is painted nicer than the top side of most cars. The metal looks pristine and was prepped and painted a high gloss Rallye red. New body grommets. Every component looks brand new done to last nut. Upfront the suspension and steering was completely rebuilt and detailed. The rear suspension has new leaf springs, gas shocks, bushings, hardware and lowering blocks. Bottom of the motor still has clean paint, the oil pan had some dents. Has high torque starter and premium stainless braided dipstick tube. The 727 Torqueflite trans is clean, has chrome pan and remote oil cooler. Driveshaft connects to a rebuilt rear end. The fuel system is new- tank, straps, sending unit and lines. Brake system was completely rebuilt. Has disc in front, new hoses, lines and e-brake cables. Very nicely bent exhaust system with turn down tips and Flowmaster mufflers.
Only 2,659 Charger R/Ts were made total in 1971. That's great but what you are really buying is the quality. This looks to me like a $100,000 investment at a professional shop. Very tastefully done too, I love the interior!
