Description of 1974 Fiat 124 Spider Two Seater

Now at age 78, after many years of restoring and driving old race cars, including several Fiats, we closed the restoration business, and have sold two of our shop buildings, and many of our cars, since I am being encouraged by my family to sell most of my cars, and huge stock of Vintage parts

This is a good opportunity to own a CLASSIC 124 Spider at a very low cost

selling here on ebay with NO RESERVE

This Spider is for sale at the shop and elsewhere.

We will consider all reasonable offers to end early if no bids have been placed

This 124 Spider belonged to our neighbor's wife, who was a Fiatisti, owning also a 2017 Spider.

As she was leaving her driveway at home, the engine stopped running, and she was unable to start it. At first, they thought it was a bad starter, but when her husband ( a mechanic) worked a bit on it, he discovered the engine would only turn 180 degrees or so.

Yesterday, I removed the head, and as expected, found a broken exhaust valve just sitting on top of the #2 piston. Because the engine was barely running at idle, it just stopped.

There is a small mark in the piston, and no damage appears on the head. I ran a hone in the cylinder and see no damage to the cylinder from the valve, see the pictures.

Although this is not a major repair job, and I do have a exact replacement head, I already have a heavy commitmen, and will not get to this until Late Summer.

Their loss is your gain

Because we have raced Fiats, and have sold many, we have several complete engines and head assemblies.

So the car sells as pictured, including an additional head assembly, but I did not see any bent valves or damage to the original head, which is included.

Prior to the broken valve, the car ran and road drove fine. Now that the head is off the engine, I think a de-carbonization and other services to the engine and head are appropriate at this time.

This is a pretty decent "Driver" quality car that shows respectably. The car was repainted a dozen or so years ago, and had new floors, carpet, and new top replacements. The dash top is nice( most are all cracked), and the glass is good. Windows roll up and down as they should. Seats are in nice condition, and the top is too.

Wheels are 17" , in the style of the new 124's.

Please look the pictures over carefully, and aski questions before bidding. This is a 45+ year old car and some TLC is appropriate.

When the engine is returned to life, this should be an enjoyable car that looks decent,

at a VERY affordable price

This car sells with a DMV VIN Inspection Certificate and Notarized Bill of Sale.

It is well known that Alabama is one of 30+ States that do not issue Titles for vehicles this age.

If needed, an Alabama Vintage Registration can be obtained for this car for additional 135.00
