1968 SCOUT 800 V8Here is a very nice looking 1968 International Scout 800. It has its original factory V8 engine and floor shift 3 speed transmission. Of course its four-wheel drive and has a very strong Ramsey 8000lb. electric winch. The Scout runs and drives like an old Scout. The steering is pretty tight and the wheels and tires are almost new. The motor is strong and runs nicely but it does smoke a bit at start up. The clutch is good and the transmission shifts well. The brakes work but typical old manual drum brakes. you need to plan ahead. The truck has been painted the original color. but its just a fair job. Some bumps and bruises were not fixed. and just painted over. But. people seem to love it! Its a nice 10 footer. The Scout has its original seats and all the gauges and lights seem to be working. There's also a nice roof rack and yes. the top unbolts and makes for a full convertible. The Scout is ready to play and yes. tinker. There is some rust in the floors and the inner rocker panels are rusted out on the back side. But these Scouts are pretty straight forward for sheet metal work. If you've got questions. please just give a call. 210-548-1310 ask for Houston Wills. The Scout comes with a clear Texas title.
