Description of 1939 Oldsmobile Oldsmobile

For sale, No Reserve

Beautiful 1939 Oldsmobile suicide door restoration rod, solid cruiser.

Sparkling dark blue metal flake paint with all the trim and bumpers re-chromed. The ghost grey upholstery, rugs, side panels, and headliner were professionally replaced with new materials by an upholstery shop.

The engine is a rebuilt Chevy 305 V-8 using a 6 1/4" Carter carburetor with electric choke and OEM ram’s head headers. It has a high energy electronic ignition with a HOT coil. It has an aluminum radiator with a traditional shrouded fan, and an additional thermostatically controlled electric fan mounted in front of the radiator which keeps the engine running cool when idling on hot summer days.

It has a rebuilt 3 speed 350 Turbo Hydromatic automatic transmission with a "mild shift kit" that provides for smooth shifting through acceleration.

The front axle and suspension was replaced with a Pacer front end including power assist disc brakes and power rack and pinion steering. The rear end is a rebuilt 1974 Chevelle with a 3/8 gear ratio.

The car was completely disassembled and the frame and body sandblasted before painting. The undercarriage has been undercoated to protect from road chemicals. There is no plastic or filler on this vehicle.

The car has been driven about 5500 miles since the restoration and has always been garaged.

There is currently no heater but has a Vintage Air heater kit ready to install. The car also has the original 1939 heater core if an original equipment install would be preferred.

The car has a clean, clear title. You can drive her home. I have owned this car since 2000 and have been very happy with it, but it's now time to move on as I have a different project coming and need to move this one out of the garage.

Due to reported non-payment issues other rod sellers have reported, a deposit of $500.00 is due at auction end, with balance due in 10 days of auction end. Paypal or cash only.
