Description of 1992 Consulier GTP SP

This is a once in a lifetimeopportunityto own a documented, limited run, production Supercar with history and importance to the industry.

This is Consulier Industries flagship supercar. A 1992 Consulier GTP-SP (sport) model. It's also the last GTP to be produced at Consulier Industries before Warren Mosler moved to production of the Intruder V8's. It's also the only other production GTP built with the optional Carroll Shelby 16 valve 2.2 L Turbo 3 twin cam engine with a 5th injector putting out +225 hp paired with the Getreg A568 transaxle with a final drive ratio of 3.85. (The other 16 valve Shelby car is the $100,000.00 challenge car currently at Mosler Motorsports is St. Augustine, FL.)

It is a custom ordered "Track Day" car and is street legal with an interchangeable exhaust system. (track pipe - street pipe) This car also benefited from the improvements learned from hundreds of racing hours Consulier racked up from 1985 to 1996. Those improvements were incorporated into this car with more carbon fiber implantation to lighten the car further and with the addition of aluminum front & rear sub-frames with aluminum rocker arms. This seriously changed the game when it came to weight. This GTP is the only other "Series 2" production GTP to have them installed.

This vehicle was also ordered with the Bridgestone supercar safety package included the following:

· Rollcage to SCCA specs as a minimum.

· On board fire suppression system with electrical shut-off. (by Firebottle Systems)

· Carrera remote adjustable shocks at each wheel - fitted with Hyperco springs.

· Recaro SRD seats with 5 point harness for driver and passenger.

· Windshield straps.

· Race steering wheel and Pad.

· Master Electrical Shut-Off.

· Removable Competition Exhaust system,

· Race Alignment & Chassis preparation.

The Bridgestone Supercar Safety Package was a $10,782.00 option... The Shelby 16 Valve T3 power-plant was another $7,500.00

Other items ordered with the car are:

· Carroll Shelby Dodge 2.2 liter - Turbo III - 16 valve w/ 5th injector.

· Aluminum sub frames with aluminum rocker arms.

· Revolution performance wheels. (15x8 rear & 15X7 front)

· 11 inch standard front & rear brakes with hydraulic anti-lock system.

· 7 position adjustable brake bias control. (inside the drivers compartment)

· Tilt steering wheel - standard size with Cruise control

· Single intermittent windshield wiper.

· Power Door Locks and Mirrors

· VDO instrumentation.

· HKS electronic boost control

· Full door panels with improved plixi-glass side windows (removable)

· Removable black interior carpeting.

· Custom exterior paint

· Complete owner manuals with spec's for competition set up.

· Consulier Tool Kit.

*Note* This car was ordered as a Track Day car, so it has NO AC and does not have power windows or even roll up windows, to save weight, it had the improved Plexi-glass removable windows inatalled. The interior has removable carpets. The back area behind the seat has finished carpet. A headliner and supporting trim components were never installed (to save weight) but has a nice natural carbon cloth finish. The rollcage has a high quality padding installed and the drivers door bar IS REMOVABLE. The dash is very simplistic with no more than what's needed but is finished out nicely.

The original buyer of the vehicle employed the services of motocross legend Troy Lee who owns Troy Lee Designs, Inc. based in Corona, CA. Troy designed a number of exterior color and racing schemes for the GTP. (I have all of those renderings and will go to the new owner) The buyer finally decided against a full race paint package because he wanted to be able to drive the car on the street too.Troy came up with the current paint design utilizing House of Kolor Paint. The factory painted the car to Troy's specs. (I also have the info sheet with Troy's information on it) After it was painted the car was given the nickname "The Alien" by Rick at the factory. This car has been in the possession of the original owner for the past 23 years in his private stable.

Important Notes:

The Consulier GTP's were built between 1985 and 1992 with 82 production units and some 18 factory full race cars and a few speciality GTP's.

The Consulier GTP was one of the most successful race cars in the USA during its time, somuch thatit ultimatelywas banned from IMSA, SCCA with multiple car top 10 finishes at major tracks across the country... for years. These cars not only set track records but set automotive records too.

They were the first production car ever built with no structural metal in the body. The basic monocoque shell consisted of a carbon/kevlar weave with S-glass and weighs about 250 pounds. The average GTP weights in wet at 1950 lbs or 884 KG. to 2250 lbs. or 1020 KG.

* This GTP weighs in around 1880 lbs or 852 KG. with about 230hp.

* I can share detailed hi-resolution inspection videos of the front and rear sub-frames, main tub assembly, VIN locations and paint imperfections. (remember this vehicle still has the OEM paint job)

* A full driving video.

* Photos of all the paperwork & print advertising

* A short video is available on our facebook page@consuliergtp (cut & paste into address bar of your browser)

Buyer details:

* Accommodateanyone wanting to fly in and inspect the car. Simply, If you drive it, you'll just love it! It's wonderful to drive!

* I will pay for enclosed shipping to the new owner anywhere within the continentalUnited States or a $1,500.00 credit towards the shipper of your choice.

If you don't know about these DOT certified - NHTSA Crash tested - EPA certified supercars of the 90's then you can watch the 10 min video produced by Car & Driver Magazine.Cut & paste this into the search bar at YouTube - (Mosler MT900 and Consulier GTP! Supercars Ahead of Their Time - The Downshift Ep. 58)

This is not a kit car or a replica - It's not like a 67 AC Cobra kit or an SLC - Therefore it's not priced in the range of one of those cars. There was over 2 million dollars spent in R&D to get to the first NHTSA crash test of the Consulier GTP and another 1.5 million to go into production. These are real supercars, that consistentlywon races & broke recordswherevertheywent. Designed by some of the brightest and driven by some of the best. At any leg of the spectrum be it the Supercar series, GT1, 24 hours of Daytona, WSC, OLOA and more, Warren Mosler sparedno expenseand built cars to beat the stopwatch & you could go drive them on the street. He won and won big, his cars were and still are (in europe)consistentlyin the top 10.

Warren Mosler (the creatorof the Consulier GTP, Intruder, Raptor and the MT900, MT900S, & GTR) told me "this particular car was not only the best car we ever made, but the best shifting car he ever drove." It's aculminationof all that was learned over the years of racing and production of these Supercars.

If your looking for a unique additionto your stable or collection that will not only WOW at a Cars & Coffee but you can take it to a NASA (National Auto Sport Assn.) track day and have a great time, be competitive, get 30 mpg and be in one of the lightest safest cars made for the track ~ then look no further... This is your day & this is your car!

Questions:

Please feel free to contact me, (407.927.6757) I have a history with these cars and own several. It trulyis the most documented GTP I've ever come across. This car is one of only 2, Series2 production GTP's with the Shelby 16 valve T3 power plant installed by the factory, paired with the A568 transaxle. One of only two cars ordered with aluminium subframes and rocker arms. There are a number of factory specialty parts that go with the car as well as 2 complete sets of the highly soughtafter Revolution 3 pieceultralite racing rims. (7 inch front - 8 inch rear)

Thank you for looking and have a great day!
