1927 BUGATTI TYPE 25 REPLICA, ORSCHE POWERED VINTAGE RACER - recently purchased this sharp Bugatti Replica in a package deal to get other items. This car has not been run in approx. 3-years. Although, e were told it ran and drove well before it was stored away. We have no reason to doubt the seller; but we have no knowledge of Porsche engines. Therefore, e would rather not do unnessesary damage due to my lack of Porsche skills.
This is definitely not your average back yard kit car build. This car looks good front to back and top to bottom. The only VW parts found are the steering column and front beam. Although, here may be others, t is titled as a 1964 VW. The paint is very nice with only some light scratches on the rear boat-tail area. All chrome is nice, s is the dash and seat. The storage area is also finished nicely. The engine turns over freely and is very clean as is the Porsche transaxle. We believe the engine is a 1958, 56, ach half of the case is stamped 529. There are no #'s stamped under the alternator. The carbs are Solex 40 P114. The transaxle is #644, 8BBBC, 1506, we believe it is from 1958. I am glad to look for other codes if requested.
