Description of 1987 Chevrolet Caprice

A nearly brand new 1987 Chevrolet Caprice, lways garage kept, ocal area car since new, as bought new at the Chevrolet dealer in the small town of Van Alstyne, exas by an elderly lady. She traded it back in to the dealer in the late 1990s and the present owner bought it used from the dealer. It has mostly sat in storage in a warehouse since then. I recently pulled it out of storage and got it running for the owner, ho now wishes to sell it. I had to drop the gas tank, lean it out, urchase and install a new sending unit/fuel pump for the tank, einstall the tank, nstall a new serpentine fan belt, nstall a new battery, ew windshield wiperblades, clean out the fuel line, nd that was it. Car starts, uns, nd drives perfectly. It has less than 7,000 actual miles. You can look underneath at the chassis and verify the low mileage that way. The car has rarely been driven in the rain or on dirt roads.

It has the 305 V-8, uel injection, ower steering, ower brakes, ower windows, ower door locks, ower seat adjustment, ilt steering wheel, M/FM radio (I did not notice if it has the tape player or not), emote control rear view mirrors on both sides, ruise control, pare tire cover, ir conditioning (works, ut is not very cold, 'm sure it could stand a Freon charge), 0/50 split front seat with fold-down armrests, eautiful maroon velour upholstery, nd the car is absolutely flawless on the interior. Outside, t looks to me like the right front door has been repainted sometime in the past, s it has a very slight color shade difference from the rest of the car. All doors and panels open and close properly and line up well. Trunk looks like it has never had anything in it other than some grocery bags. Look at the photos of the underside of the car--a few cobwebs but no dust, o mud, o rust, o dirt.

The steel-belted radial tires are good with plenty of tread and I did not see any weather cracks in them. I have driven the car on the highway, nd it rides smoothly, teers properly, racks in a straight line, nd just acts like the nearly new car that it is. There are no rattles, o squeaks, o wind noise or leaks and nothing that needs fixing except for a can or two of Freon into the A/C system. The right rear bumper filler panel is partly gone.

With a current license and inspection sticker, feel this car could be driven any distance as-is. If you like these last-of-a-kind Caprices with their formal, azor;s edge styling, ou would be hard pressed to find a nicer one with less mileage than this one. It has always been in north central Texas, nd is currently housed in a garage in Savoy, exas which is about 70 miles northeast of Dallas. It can stay here for up to one month after the auction's conclusion, ut after that, he buyer needs to move it or pay for storage. I can help load it onto a trailer or transport truck, r you can bring your own license plate and drive it home. The owner is a very busy guy who has asked me to sell it for him. I pride myself on my good Ebay ratings. If someone wants to come see the car in person or drive it, will need lots of advance notice so I can get the keys from the owner, eet you at the building it is in, tc. The new owner of this car will not be disappointed, can assure you that. There is a reserve price on the car--please show some class and don't ask what it is. I can tell you that it is a fraction of what a new Chevrolet would cost you at the dealership, nd a fraction of what a one-year-old Chevrolet with 6,000 miles will cost you at a dealership or used car sales place. This car can be driven daily for many years to come, ith rear-wheel drive comfort and smooth ride that only comes from a car of this size and type.

I expect a $500 down payment from the auction winner within 48 hours of auction's end; and I expect full payment of the final price within 7 days of auction's end. If the high bidder cannot meet either of those conditions, he car will be offered to the runner-up bidder and any down payment will be forfeited. Please ask your wife, riend, r significant other ahead of time, f you have to get permission to buy a car. I have no patience with people who go back on their word, nd it costs money to do these listings. Thanks for looking.
