With the exception of the paint and carpet, he car is as purely original as the day it sold new 50 years ago. The originality of this 1965 Impala is remarkable. In the current market of over-restored $100k+ rotisserie restorations and cheap repaints with big wheels, he honesty of this essentially unrestored car is a breath of fresh air. This Impala isn't a perfect museum piece that was locked in a bubble for 50 years. It is a very honest 61k mile car that has had a very good, ry climate life with minimal use. One of the most impressive aspects is opening the doors to a beautifully original interior. The interior materials show a few hints of patina to remind you that it is a half-century old, ut is remarkably well preserved. With the exception of the clock, verything works perfectly. The AC blows ice-cold, he power windows, he dome lights, he gauges... everything. Even the original GM keys in the unchanged ignition, oor and trunk lock tumblers. California black plates are included with the car.

Fifteen years ago the car was freshened up with one original color repaint and new square weave carpet. At that time the only area of rust was addressed with a new right rear quarter panel. The paint has great gloss and shows very well with a few flawed areas upon close inspection. Overall the paint is a 7 out of 10. The body of the car is exceptionally straight with near perfect gaps and a pair of the nicest closing doors we've seen on a classic in a long time. Besides the routine maintenance items the engine bay is untouched. No chrome kits and braided hoses, ust GM paint and those cool factory options. It was so refreshing to see such a purely original engine bay so we left it undetailed. These are all of the un-restorable qualities that you only find in a pure low mileage car that hasn't been taken apart and escaped the numerous classic car trends over 50 years.

From a cold start the engine fires off with a tap of the key and idles smoother than a late model fuel injected motor. The Powerglide transmission shifts flawless and cruises down the road effortlessly at 65 MPH. The car has good power, racks straight, teers easily through the corners, as great solid brake pressure, o squeaks or rattles and has a nice modern touch of luxury with an under dash AM/FM/CD player. Just an absolute joy to drive.
