Description of 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

First let me say that this is not my car. I am auctioning this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray for a very nice lady who has owned and loved it for the past 30 years. The car is located in Camden, Maine. If you would like or need more information please contact me through eBay and I will do my best to answer your questions.

Additionally, I understand that there is a lot of information in my ad. I also understand that this may be boring to the person who is just looking and not buying. However, for the person who is looking to buy and spend their hard earned money, I feel that there is never too much information.

As to myself, I am a (66) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I am retired from Managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, please check out my eBay feedback that has only one negative feedback which I believe I should not have received. I was given the option to refund money to the buyer or he would leave negative feedback and ruin my 100% feedback. I did nothing wrong and always disclose everything in my ads so I declined. He left the one and only negative comment out of (1,144) transactions. Many of my transactions have been muscle cars, which I have sold to individuals all over the country as well as Canada, England, France, Switzerland, Australia and the Netherlands. My reputation for honesty is well known amongst muscle car lovers.

INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS ARE WELCOME WITH A DOWN PAYMENT VIA PAYPAL AND THE BALANCE VIA WIRE TRANSFER ONLY.

Here is a little history on the 1969 Corvette.

In 1969,small blockengine displacement increased from 327ci to 350ci, though output remained the same. All other engines and transmission choices remained unchanged from the previous year.

All cars featured 8-inch-wide steelwheelsincreased from 7inches but the tire size remained the same. Carried over from the previous year were seven available rear axle ratios. The optionalPositractionrear axle was installed on more than 95% of the cars. "Stingray" script nameplates appeared on front fenders, now one word, in contrast to the “Sting Ray” name used previously. On the inside, revised door panels provided additional shoulder room in the C3's tighter cabin and headrests became standard. Steering wheel diameter was reduced from 16 to 15inches to permit easier entry and exit, the ignition switch was moved from the dash to the steering column, and map pockets were added to the dash area in front of the passenger seat. Accounting for 57% of the cars, coupes with their removable roof panels, began a trend of outsellingroadsters. An extended production cycle due to a labor dispute increased '69 volume. Car and Drivermagazine wrote in October 1968, “The small-engine Corvettes are marginally faster and extraordinarily civilized than the big block Corvettes.

Ok, here is a Corvette you can purchase that has been female owned for the past 30 years. Originally a California Corvette, the Vette was transported to Maine 10 years ago to be driven only in good weather during the summer months. When not being driven on nice days and during its winter hibernation, the Corvette was kept in dry storage. It still retains its completely original drive train and the frame and birdcage are totally rust free.

See a walk-around video here:

Exterior: Approximately 25 years ago, this Corvette was painted in its original color of Monza Red. The paint should be considered driver quality with some fading, scratches and a star on the hood where the hood was closed without the air cleaner rod not completely screwed down into the carburetor. The front and rear chrome bumpers has a little hazing and should be considered driver quality. The glass is very good all-around with no cracks or chips noticed. The T-tops are functional and when in place, I am told they do leak some. New weather stripping is recommended. All four tires are in good to excellent condition including the rallye wheels and trim rings. The door openers and mirror are good condition. The hide-away headlights open and close as they should. The blinkers and all exterior lights are in working order. The wipers work but the cowl flap does not close.

Interior: The interior is in good condition and appears to be original to the Corvette. The heater and blower motor appear to be in working order. The in-dash speedometer and tachometer are working. The original AM/FM radio is not working. There is a pair of non-original or non-working speakers in the back area of the Corvette. Interior lights are working. The fuel and amp gauges are working. The oil pressure and temperature gauges are not working. I found the water temperature wire disconnected in the engine compartment and I suspect that both gauges will work with the wires connected or new sending units installed. The horn is working. I did not remove the rear pop-out window. The drop down holding area for the pop-out window is there and functional.

Undercarriage:The undercarriage is in very good condition as can be seen in the photos. There is no rust issues of any kind. Body mounts and mechanicals appear to be fine. A newer exhaust system has been installed.

Engine: The Base 350ci 300hp engine is original to the car with the vin number in place as well as the HZ stamp on the engine pad. The block casting number is also correct. The heads, intake, exhaust manifolds, A/C unit and distributor I believe to be original to the car. The carburetor is a 1972 Rochester Quadrajet. The rear axle with the correct stamping is also present. The distributor shielding is in place. The car starts great, runs strong and drives down the road as it should. The engine compartment itself is in good original condition.

Transmission: The automatic transmission is original with the vin number in place. It shifts up and down the gears as it should with no issues.
