Description of 1965 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 k-10 |
This is a 1965 Chevy short bed stepside factory 4x4 K-10 that was built for the Navy. Not a lot of these factory 4x4's out there from this year. It still has the metal Navy name plate on the glove box door. The non factory parts on the truck now is the 350 V8 which replaced the straight six motor, the passenger front fender is aftermarket as well as new rockers, new wood bed and bumpers. All other parts are as how this truck was born for for the most part. Since it has a 4 speed trans with granny gear, it is not a highway vehicle. With the current 33 inch tires on there it tops out around 55-60 MPH. The truck could push larger tires all day long since it is geared so low so that could make the top speed a little better. The truck runs and starts well but the carb has no choke on it so it needs to get warmed up before driving on the road and could still use some more fine tuning. The motor does not blow an smoke.Great truck for around town and short distances so buyer will want to tow the truck home rather than a long drive. The paint is sharper in person than how it looks in the pictures. It is a more brilliant metallic orange but it is no show truck. It is a 5-10 footer but still looks reallygood. This truck is a great platform because of its condition but little things still should be done like shocks, steering stabilizer, radio and more detail work. It still maintains its factory drum brakes, emergency brake works and no power steering but is easily manageable with these tires. Just shoot me questions or phone number if you want to talk. Thanks. |
