Description of 1964 Chevrolet C-10 |

Up for auction is this extremely nice 1964 Chevy C10 with all original paint! We have the complete history on this truck – 2 previous owners. First owner Leroy and Ila Mae Jacobs purchased the truck new in Krum Texas and they had it for a little over 30 years before it was acquired by 2nd owner. The second owner acquired it after it had been sitting for about 15 years. The engine was seized. He replaced the original motor with another period correct 235. The engine developed a smoking problem so he then decided to swap in a modern 5.3 LS V8 and 4L60E transmission. He acquired a low mileage 73k LS and the swap was performed by Leon B’s Garage in Van Texas. The computer flash and wiring harness came from Hot Wire. At this time a 1985 C10 front crossmember with coil spring independent suspension, disk brakes and power steering was swapped in. It was lowered front and rear and performance front and rear swaybars also installed. New bed wood was installed with white Oak and stainless steel strips. Aftermarket AC system was added with a period correct looking under dash looking system. It has the factory heater. Aftermarket stereo system installed with speakers behind seats and CD player with aux input mounted below seat. Aftermarket fuel tank also installed, mounted in between frame rails near back of truck. The Cooler in back is from Howard Hughes Beer company out of New Orleans. New Dakota Digital gauges were also added. This truck is a true joy to drive – it is perfectly worn in all the right places giving it a very comfortable feel to it and a distinct look that cannot be naturally duplicated. On the body where the original paint is worn through the original primer shows. Looking at the pictures I’m sure most would agree it has a perfectly well balance patina that should not be changed. There was a dent on the lower passenger side door where it was repaired and paint color matched and blended. This section was just up to the lower body line. The complete frame and undercarriage is also very solid. If you are looking for a very reliable, comfortable to drive classic truck this is it! Here is some history on the original owners who had the truck for 30 years- JACOBS FAMILY IN KRUM |
