Description of 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Standard |
This is my 1968 Camaro. GM dark cosmic blue in color. It has a very tame silver metallic. This is a 95% garage built car. Complete ground up build. All new sheet metal. The shell is original as well as the firewall and cowls. The cab and trunk floor do have patch panels. Mini tubs were installed. Front fender extensions welded. Deleted the front bumper of course. Filled all panel gaps at rear valance and tail panel. All sheet metal is repop and was gaped, filled, and bodied to acquire good gaps all the way around the car. The car was body worked, blocked, then feather filled, blocked, k2 high build, blocked, sealed, 3 coats of PPG base, and 4 coats of clear. The car has been cut and polished. It was painted in dec. 2017. The under carriage and interior of the car has been undercoated. The interior of the car has dynamat through out. The truck has sound deadner as well. Ozite through out truck. I have put a few miles on this car and as beautiful as the car looks there is very little subtle about driving it. It is very therapeutic for me to drive this car. It rides a little harder then a C5 corvette. Its handle on rails and has been auto crossed. But is comfortable on the highway and at 80 mph you cruise right at 1800 rpm in 6th and it will still pull if you need it too. I built the car to enjoy and to be capable of doing a little of everything. There were a few "must haves" when building the car. A big block, a t56, 13" rear tires, and the stance. All in all it is my bucket list car. I am in the process of getting it tuned and dynoed. The paint isn't perfect but the body is straight and I get a lot of compliments. the car is running Borla XSPs that dump at the rear axle. Sound great but still manageable in the cab. Tank inc narrowed tank. It still carries 18 gallons. 140 gpm walboro fuel pump and gm sending unit. -6 nylon braided supply and return fuel lines. Fueltech 10 micron fuel filter. All billet hinges at hood and truck. Lokar ebrake assembly Ride tech billet filler neck. Auto wire harness. LED rear tail lights. Optima red top in the trunk. All trim and bright work painted to match the body color. Alpine speaker and Pioneer amplifier. Kenwood double din head unit. Bonspeed wheels. They are called Big Blocks. 18x8 in the front and 18x11 in the rears. They are custom offsets wheels and made to order. 2 piece welded. The tires are BF goodrich G-Force200 Tread ware tires. 240s in the front and 335/30 in the rear. My name is Todd. Please email me with any questions about the car. I have ove 200+ documented photos of the car throughout the build not to mention some video updates. I will get back to you asap. I appreciate everyone looking. Thank You.
