Description of 1972 Chevrolet Corvette coupe

Sharp 1972 Stingray with many updates. Built to look like an early 1970's Corvette road race machine. The car was born as a Warbonnet Yellow coupe with Tan deluxe interior. base 350. TH 400 automatic and air conditioning. The original engine and transmission are long gone and it is now powered by a strong running ZZ4 350 with a new Street Demon carburetor. MSD 6AL2 ignition amplifier. refurbished HEI distributor and mini starter. The transmission is a 200R4 overdrive unit with a TransGo shift kit. Red Eagle frictions. Koline steels. super servo. high capacity pump and a custom built 2000 stall converter. The cooling system consists of a new Griffen aluminum radiator with electric cooling fans and an aluminum water pump. The exhaust exits through chrome shorty headers connected to 2 1/2" glass packs with chrome tips. There is also an equalizer tube welded between the two banks. The suspension has been upgraded with VB 550 lb. front lowering coils. VB tie rods. urethane upper & lower control arm bushings and sway bar bushings. On the rear the factory steel leaf springs have been replaced with a composite unit. All four shocks are new Bilstein Sports and the factory steering box and assist cylinder have been replaced by a Borgeson unit. Tires are BF Goodrich T/A Radials with a lot of tread left. The size is 255/60-15 which is slightly larger than stock mounted on Black steel rally's. The paint job is a recent base coat. clear coat job which used the highest quality PPG products in the original Warbonnet Yellow color with black stripes. I would rate the paint & body work as driver quality and rate it at an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. There are a few minor cracks and flaws but it is a very sharp car overall. The interior was originally Tan as I stated before but is now Black with new carpet. door panels. seat covers and a Pioneer AM FM CD player. The seats have been upgraded to the '80-'82 style. The tachometer has been replaced by an electric unit with a higher redline and all the gauges work except the clock. odometer and trip meter. The speedometer is accurate and the transmission has the correct speedo drive gears for the 3. 08 rearend. When the interior was redone a dynamat product was used under the new carpet for sound and heat deadening. I installed FIA racing style headlight covers and removed the bumpers plus built a racing style front air dam out of stiff rubber to give the car the circa 1970 endurance racer look. This was not a frame off restoration but the frame and birdcage are in solid condition with minor pitting and flaking. The buyer will get all receipts. original headlight doors. wiper door mechanism. wheel rings and caps. bumpers. extra paint. spare wheel & tire. car cover. t-top bags and many other parts. This Corvette is very light. nbsp;fast and handles great plus the overdrive trans. keeps the rpms. down for highway cruising. The hvac. controls are gone and replaced by a simple fan switch. There are also no functioning windshield wipers. I just use Rain X on the windshield. If you wanted to return the car to AC you would probably need to get a Vintage Air unit. Because of the non-working odometer actual miles are unknown. The parking brake parts are all there but the cable seems to be seized up at the rear wheels. For anyone thinking of buying a rough project car and building it yourself you can buy my car and save thousands. I have around 23K invested and this Corvette turns heads and gets attention whenever I drive it. I am selling it for financial reasons.
