This 1969 Chevelle SS is bound to attract a lot of potential suitors thanks to its awesome combination of a custom paint scheme, big block power under the hood, and a 5-speed manual transmission that makes it a blast out on the open road. Sinister and clean, this street brawler is sure to turn heads everywhere it goes. Finished in Candyapple Red and what appears to be a touch of burnt orange, this '69 certainly looks the... part as of one of the era's most potent street cars. The body and paint were restored a few years ago, and it's clear that someone has taken exceptional care of the car ever since. Sure, it's been driven, because no man can resist the siren song of a big block and a manual transmission, but it has also been carefully washed and waxed, leaving a beautiful, smooth finish. The custom paint is simply gorgeous in person, deep and rich, and with a fresh black vinyl top, symmetrical side stripes, and a blacked-out fiberglass cowl hood, this is a car that's impossible to ignore. There's a black-and-chrome grille up front that matches the theme of the oversized rims, and all the remaining chrome and brightwork has been polished up so it glitters like it's fresh from the showroom. The interior has a stock look at first glance, although you'll quickly see that it has upgrades where it matters and matches the custom look of the exterior perfectly. The black bucket seats and rear bench aren't factory-issue but have a cool-and-correct vintage vibe and wear GM-style vinyl upholstery that looks barely touched. New door panels, a fresh set of black carpets, and a center console all dress things up, and the wood-rim SS steering wheel sits atop an aftermarket tilt steering column for a much-needed modern convenience anyone over 5'9" will appreciate. The gauges are a brand-new set of digital Auto Meter speedometer, tach, and fuel units installed in the custom bezel in front of the driver and are flanked by a neatly organized triple-set of matching auxiliary dials installed underneath the dash. And speaking of the dash, you'll quickly note that it's been upgraded to a more modern look overall with fresh bezels, trim, vents, and a plush pad up top, a mild custom look that flows straight into the cool kick-panel speaker housings. A chrome Hurst shifter with a cue ball knob means you can hammer your shifts without worrying about missing any gears and we've always loved the way that it's perfectly nestled into the middle console of a bucket-seat interior. The trunk is fully finished for show, now housing a pair of subwoofers and amplifiers that bring the boom when turned up to 11. The engine is a thumping 454 cubic inch big block that has been nicely dressed in a proper coat of Chevy Orange and lots of chrome. Chrome valve covers with Yenko emblems and an open-element Turbo Jet air filter with proper snorkel give it a burly look, and the Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor ensure that it runs even better than it looks. Clearly lots of money was spent under the hood, because the inner fenders are beautifully finished with matching paint, the big aluminum radiator looks like it belongs there, and the serpentine belt drive system ensures reliability. Long-tube headers feed a throaty dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers with turn-downs just ahead of the rear axle. With seemingly endless reserves of big block torque, this Chevelle is a blast to drive, and there's something special about running your vintage muscle car through the gears of a 5-speed gearbox that makes it so special. The 12-bolt rear end doesn't mind the big levels of horsepower churned out by the big block, and you'll be pleased with just how clean it is underneath. Power 4-wheel disc brakes bring this bruiser to an abrupt stop, and a highly-appreciated power steering system makes driving this Chevelle an absolute pleasure. Beautiful Forgeline wheels now wear staggered 245/40/18 front and 275/35/20 rear Yokohama radials that stuff the wheel wells perfectly and finish the sinister look. This '69 Chevelle represents the rare opportunity to own a vintage muscle car you can drive without worries. Fast and fun, it's ready to rock today!
