Description of 1975 Chevrolet C-10 |
For sale: 1975 Chevrolet C20 heavy duty Camper Special original survivor. Purchased new and lived a life of camping and fishing out west in Montana's blue ribbon trout country. Primarily used as a recreational rig, it escaped the hard use that most of these have seen over the years. Complete and correct survivor, still has the original Power Beam headlights, and all original Safety-Float glass including windshield and sliding camper window. Original jack, handle, and lug wrench. Two older owners from new till I purchased the truck earlier this year. I’ll do my best to describe this special truck below, PLEASE see the Photobucket album link with pics including the underside in the description, and the YouTube walk around and start up video. Exterior: Nice original survivor 20 footer, driver quality, looks clean enough to garner compliments at the gas station. Mostly original paint with a few touch ups, still shines well. Pretty straight truck, there is a dent on each side of box as shown. Also original owner ran the passenger side mirror into garage door, had it repainted and paint has cracked on that door - see pics. Dry western truck that's never seen salt. Only rust I can see is behind the rear wheels on both sides where mud packs in and holds moisture. Underside looks great including cab mounts.Nothing is covered up or hidden with bed liner or undercoat, what you see is what you get. Truck had a camper on it most of it's life and inside of box in good condition as a result. Glass is good and is all original including windshield and sliding camper rear glass. Please see linked Photobucket album for detail pics. Just an honest survivor to use as is or take to the next level. Interior: All original and decent driver condition, no rodent damage or smells. A few small cracks in dash and the seat has a couple of tears on the driver side under the cover. Seat is firm and not broken down. Original carpet is decent, original headliner is sagging and needs to be re-glued as is common on these. Glass is all original and in good condition. I think everything works including lights, wipers, heater, gauges, etc. Aftermarket radio plays but tuner sticks. Just a clean, nice tight survivor. Mechanical: Starts, runs and drives out well. No smoke, noises or major leaks. Smooth and tight with low mile feel, 86k mostly highway miles on truck from camping trips around the west. Original 454 big block had a rod bearing failure at 68k, so a new Goodwrench 454 was installed, which means about 18k miles on the new motor. 2nd owner could not find the receipts. He also stated that it also had $550 of recent brake work including new master cylinder. Trans shifts firmly. Could use choke adjustment as it is cold-blooded. Truck will need tires, will be shipped on the original split rims and ancient bias ply tires. I am including a set of 4 later one-piece 16†rims with radials(also old)mounted. It drives very nice on the radial tires. May need fuel tank selector valve, switch works and gauge works on both tanks, but only seems to draw fuel from passenger side tank. Truck runs and drives out well, but it is an old truck and old trucks need work from time to time. If you haven’t fooled with vintage vehicles before, adjust your expectations accordingly. Pricing/Misc: This truck is NO RESERVE and will sell. If you’ve been looking lately, you already know that Squarebody truck prices are headed for the stratosphere. This truck runs and drives well, but flying in and driving it home this time of year probably isn’t a good idea, as Montana is a huge state with many remote areas with no cell service or roadside assistance. Reasonable transport is available, I will drive truck to meet your transporter and help load it. Title is clear and in my name, buyer will need to get insurance upon purchase as I will cancel mine. Truck can stay here for 30 days, after that $100/month storage will be due. PHOTOBUCKET ALBUM WITH DETAIL PICS INCLUDING UNDERSIDE (COPY AND PASTE TO BROWSER URL)
