Description of 1976 Chevrolet Corvette |
25,954 actual mile survivor. I bought this from a woman that has owned it the last 32 years, since 1988! It had only 16,400 miles when she bought it. EXTERIOR: The body appears to be in excellent condition. I don't see any signs of damage or repairs, the panels all fit square and flush. Headlight doors fit square, they open and close with no problem. Both the front and rear rubber bumpers are in excellent condition. The original classic white paint still shows really well, has a glossy finish. Of course there will be some minor imperfections, nicks and touch ups. The emblems, door handles, mirrors are excellent. The glass is excellent. The original weather strips are still real nice, still has yellow glue showing that the factory uses. This one has the optional aluminium wheels, they are in very nice shape. The tires appear to be like new. It has removable t-tops. INTERIOR: Very well preserved original condition. Considering the white leather seats are original, I think they are well preserved. The white door panels are not beat up, they do have a few age cracks on the armrests. The instrument panel in front of me and the console look excellent. The vents, gauges, dash pad are real nice. The factory am-fm works. Steering wheel is not worn, its a tilt-telescopic wheel. The original carpeting front to back is nice. Interior lights work, they are on a delay when doors are shut. It has power windows. Has power windows. The plastic red trim is excellent, the plastic seat backs need to be resprayed. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The original numbers matching motor is still completely stock. The manifolds, complete air cleaner assembly, valve covers, ignition shielding are original. Features include power steering, power brakes and factory air conditioning. It was updated to R-134 freeon. The fan shroud, the hoses, the wires all look proper. Starts right up, runs smooth. UNDERSIDE: It is exceptionally clean, nicer then most originals I see. The front end components are clean, swaybar bushings look new. Bottom of the motor is clean, the Chevy orange was touched up, starter is clean, has flywheel cover. The Vin number matching Turbo 350 automatic is clean. It has an independent suspension rear end. The original exhaust system looks clean, still has catalytic converter. The fiberglass floors are excellent. The frame is smooth, clean metal. The spare tire carrier is complete. It has disc brakes at all 4 wheels, the e-brake cables are complete. It really is very clean and proper under here. This car has great potential for the Bloomington Gold and NCRS awards. With some detailing and tweaking I think it would score very well. Otherwise it is a sharp looking Vette in very well preserved, unabused condition ready for ice cream runs and cruise nights. I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking.
