Description of 1978 Chevrolet Suburban |
Selling my 1978 Suburban. 2nd owner. always been in the NW. bought new in Washington State. I've had it almost 2 years. I bought it to haul a travel trailer that we have since sold. It's a great truck that now just isn't going to get used. I put about 4000 miles on it just last year over spring break hauling our trailer down the California coast. up through Nevada. into Utah and back to Oregon. not a single issue the whole way. It has I believe every option that was offered in 783rd row seatHD suspension front and rearHD tow packageHD engine and transmission coolersFront and Rear air conditioningCruise controlIt's a great truck that has a lot of life left in it. It has like new 16" BF Goodrich 10 ply Commercial TA's that have less than 1000 miles on them. The interior is really nice. without any rips. tears. or funny smells. The A/C line that runs back to the rear has a hole in it. I found this out when I filled it up with R-12 and it worked awesome until it ran out onto the ground. The rear window will no longer go down with the key or switch. so that is going to take some fooling with to make it work again. The windshield has a crack right down the center. it never bothered me. but it is there. Since it has been sitting. the transmission has started to leak. it drives fine in all gears. but I just want to be clear of any imperfections. Didn't have any trouble at all towing out trailer all over the place. When it was being driven it wasn't an issue. so it may just be dried out seals or something like that. The exhaust was old and falling off. so I just cut it off under the cab so I would be forced to fix it. I forgot until I started it up last week. Now it has some flowmaster mufflers that are on it. but no tailpipes. it is pretty noisy and rumbly. but since I am selling it someone else might want something different so I won't waste any more effort on that. It has some rusty spots. the worst is the bottom of the drivers front fender. The paint is faded and gone on some parts of the top. The motor runs like a champ. always starts no matter how long it sits or what the temperature is. It has 9 seatbelts and more legroom in the very back than anything you can buy today. It's comfortable to drive and everyone that sees it loves it. Hopefully someone like me will want it and have more time to fix any of these little things. I'd feel confident in driving this Suburban anyplace. even New York or Florida. no problem. Call or text with questions. Thanks for looking!Gary 541-eight nine 2 - twenty four 08 |
