Description of 1963 Chevrolet Nova ProStreet

This 1963 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova was built to do only one thing go fast! Nowhere on this car does it try to hide its speedy intentions, which means everyone will hide from you on the street and the strip.Novas are great cars to start with as a Pro-Street custom build because they are small in size, light in weight, but big in stature. These coupes started life as the budget Chevys, so it takes this really wild shade of yellow to bring out the stylized creases in the industrial slab-sided design. These were often an exercise in minimum chrome accents, which leaves the brightwork on the bumpers, light surrounds, door mirrors, and custom billet grille to really standout. Of course the pieces of chrome everyone will really be looking at are the 15-inch Weld Wheels. They can't help but draw attention to the massive rear racing tires and street-eating forward stace. We can't talk about the exterior without addressing the elephant in the room, or more appropriately on the hood. The big tri-butterfly air inlet adds a great stylized touch with the custom yellow flames, but more importantly, this piece sits above the hood like a big flag warning others not to mess with what's directly below it (more on that in a moment).Open the door, and this Nova is a bit surprising. It has everything needed to be the street king and a bit more. First, there is a full race gauge package, with the large shift-light tachometer mounted high on the dashboard. The black vinyl seats look like they belong in a late-model racing Porsche, and have five-point G-Force racing harnesses. The eight-point roll cage on this custom build is painted to match the exterior yellow. A car this mean is not expected to have everyday comforts, but this custom build is a bit different. After all, you have to have some tunes to listen to on your way to the drag races. So this one has a modern AM/FM/CD player with a subwoofer, and enough amplified wattage that you can still hear the tunes no mattert how hard you're riding the accelerator. Plus, there is a heat/defrost so you won't freeze while waiting for you next midnight challenger.Ok, we won't leave you in suspense any longer about the monster motor. It's a 327 cubic-inch small block V8 with some serious performance upgrades. Less than 3, 00 miles ago this was rebuilt with a hotter Lunati camshaft, roller lifters, steel crank, two Holley 450 CFM four-barrel carburetors, aluminum heads, Sanderson headers, and a 3-inch dual performance exhaust that ensures everyone hears you coming. All of this combined with the 11:1 compression ratio yields around 500 hp. This big muscle runs through a bulletproof TH350 three-speed automatic that's linked to a B&M shifter. This keeps an ideal powerband thanks to a 3500 RPM stall converter. All this muscle is then sent to a stout Currie-built nine-inch rear end with a 3.50 ratio. The final step to make sure all this power meets the pavement are the massive 29X18.5X15 Hoosier Pro Street sticky tires. The racing gear doesn't end there. This Nova has a coil over suspension with a custom four-link stabilized rear end, four-wheel disc brakes, a racing fuel cell in the trunk, and the battery was relocated to the get as much weight over the rear wheels as possible. If you want to know what it really takes to create a custom Pro-Street machine like this, you can either stick your head underneath to see how clean it is, or we can just show you the mountain of build receipts and photos that come with the car. This Nova is so mean, it's just barely enough on the right side of the law enough to get a license plate hung on the back. Are you the one to tame it? Call now!!
