Description of 1973 Chrysler Newport |
So the time has come to where Im considering selling my big bad ass of a boat Chrysler. Car is a 73 Newport Custom. Has the 400 4bbl big block in it that runs great. Lots of fun to drive, gets attention EVERYWHERE you go. I have put a good amount of time and money in it (and recently too, over the past few months). Anyway lets start with the good! All work has been done within the past 3 months Has a great running 400 big block Edelbrok 4bbl carb/intake/air cleaner New master cylinder New brake booster New rear brake hose New battery New alternator New voltage regulator New ballist resistor New autometer gauges (so new only the oil pressure gauge has been hooked up so far) New autometer tach (still in the box) New belts (that has yet to be put in) New chrome air cleaner and filter Fresh synthetic oil change with K&N oil filter Fresh carpet and upholstery New windshield New door lock cylinders (in box needs put in) Power windows Straight and solid body Includes 1000 page factory service manual Cons Front passenger window off track Rear passenger windows seem really slow, probably will need new motors Fuel gauge does not work Needs a new paint job at some point (or buff it out and clear coat it, rat rod style if thats what your into) Radio does not work (is the original though if thats important to you) Has cruise control, but is unhooked and not sure if it works, and never really cared honestly so...??? Its and A/C car, but ac dont work Some interior trim pieces broken Front armrest pads need recovered (driver side is off, but I do have. just needs screwed back on) Power steering pump has a leak. Car is for sale locally, so bid now before it sells! Car is not perfect. But its a great start for a restoration, or to work on here and there and enjoy on the weekends or whatever. Good solid base. Fun car to drive. Cool as hell. Dont let this one pass you by! |
