The Citroen 2CV was a very revolutionary car for France. Conceived before WWII the design was to provide the French people with a cheap car in the same image of the Ford Model T or VW Beetle. Using extremely simple and durable designs for a low cost the 2CV was an ingenious design. The car was so inexpensive to purchase and operate and was capable on and off the road in the rough French countryside. It could seat four people and their luggage as well as reach a decent top speed. It was describe... as a world car like none other and over 9 million 2CVs and their variants were sold from 1948 to 1990. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this very unique 1968 example for your consideration. The current owner bought the car in California where it was most likely imported. It features a two tone burgundy and black exterior and a grey interior. Overall the condition of the car is excellent with minimal marks or damage. The glass is intact and the car appears to be fully functioning. While early models came with a 373cc H2 cylinder that pumped out a breathtaking 9 hp this model appear to have the 602cc H2 that produces about 29hp. It is mated to a unique "twist" style manual gear selector which controls a 4-speed manual. The current owner says that the clutch new top and new top have been recently installed. Some of the cool features of this car included a full length sliding cloth sunroof glass windows interior seats and exterior door handles.
