Description of 1970 Datsun Z-Series

Originally a C Production Race car, this 1970 Datsun 240Z race car includes Featherlite aluminum trailer and numerous spares. VIN HLS30-7940 bought new off the showroom floor by Bill Martin, then equipped with all of the BRE parts and off to the race track. I have the log book dating back to 1972, where it was raced at Riverside. The 4th picture above is what the car looked like when I purchased it in December, 2000. I have the title for both the car and the trailer. Unfortunately racing has become too expensive for me to continue, and see no signs of my financial situation improving upon my retirement. This car has the absolute best of everything, except for driver (me), and would be devastating on the track in the hands of a good driver. I finally got this car set up right after years of development. Turn-key - ready to race! There's probably $70,000 invested in this race car. I fully recommend you see the car in person before purchasing - I know I would! Car is located in Lompoc, CA. Contact me at markbelrose@hotmail.com for further details.
Includes:
-Fresh dry-sump 3-liter Rebello motor (2 race weekends), with special long rod configuration. Dyno'ed at 374hp and and almost 300 lbs of torque through an extremely wide power-band. Ran low 1:50's at Cal Speedway but easily capable of sub-1:50's in the hands of the right driver. This is a $15,000 motor. Out-pulls many V-8 equipped Mustangs and Camaros on the track.
-20' Featherlite trailer with tire rack and storage container, near perfect condition.
-G-Force dog-ring, close-ratio T-5.
-Suspension by TopTech Racing (Joe Harlan), the best of everything.
-Carbs are triple 50PHHs with 44mm chokes (probably worth $5k in today's market).
-7.25" Quartermaster clutch.
- Electromotive HPV-1 crankfire ignition.
-Freshly built OS-Giken LSD 4.40 R180, all seals and bearings fresh, raced two weekends, spent $2k to build up.
