Description of 1966 Dodge Coronet |
Up for auction is this ultra cool piece of muscle car history. This 1966 Dodge Coronet is the real deal. In the mid 60's Dodge reused the coronet name that was laid to rest in 1959. A brand new mid size car was built on a 117" wheel base. The body styling was typical of the day from Detroit. A simple boxy look with a super identifying grill. In 1966 the Coronet got a total make over. The sleeker look to the body and Fastback look soon became popular. Many drag racers and street racers became very familiar with that fast back roof and the new styled tail lights as the Coronet moved away from them. The Hemi Coronet would do 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds and run a quarter mile in 14.5 seconds in street dress. This 1966 Dodge Coronet is equipped with a 426 Hemi, wo 4 barrels and a Torquelite automatic transmission. This Dodge Coronet has only 61,739 original miles! Only 96, 966 Dodge Coronets hardtops were built with a Hemi and this transmission. The white paint and black interior make it look good and is very desirable. The car comes with a nice pedigree. The car has the order sheet and the window sticker. The car was featured in a muscle car magazine. All of this paperwork is in the photos. The body is an older restoration with some nicks and scratches. But by no means is it in poor shape. The bottom of the car has never been restored. It has dealer undercoating. The seats have been reupholstered in factory covers and pads. Brand new red line radials have never hit the street. The block is not matching number to the car. The block was sent to Ray Barton Racing Engines in Robesonia, A to be freshened up. The list of parts purchased and labor preformed includes Stock Hemi Rods Molnar Crankshaft, .75" Stroke Diamond Pistons Ring Set Rod Bearing Set CB527P Main Bearing Set MS1795V Head Bolt Set Inner Head Stud Set Block Labor Hot Tank Labor Bush Lifter Bores, ustom Bushings Block Labor Bore & Hone Cylinders Crankshaft Labor Balance Over $4,700.00 was spent on this list. The heads appear to be correct. Photos of dates and part numbers are attached. The heads have not been rebuilt. Over $9000.00 has been spent on this car in the past 10 months. A list is attached in the photos. The car was purchased in September of 2014 from it's owner of 6 years. The engine is out of the car and apart. The transmission is hanging in the body. You might say, Some assembly required." Unfortunately the owner suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. This was his pride and joy. Your sweat and labor can give you a boost in owning a great car like this. The reserve price is reasonable but please don't ask for numbers, his is an auction. I will try to answer any questions you may have. If you want to talk on the phone (I prefer phone calls to emails) just send me your number or a note and I will send you my number. Thanks so much for looking! Have a great day! On Oct-15-15 at 06:49:56 PDT, eller added the following information:Revision: The car is located in Chambersburg, A |
