Description of 1955 Dodge Coronet |
Offered for auction is our 1955 Dodge Coronet 2 door Hardtop; a classic example of mid 1950's design and style! With it's three-tone paint scheme. this car is sure to stand out!The car was repainted by the previous owner and while the light blue & white are factory colors. the dark blue has a more modern metallic in the paint. It doesn't detract from the car at all. and it adds that unique touch to the car. The paint is still very glossy and there's no evidence of damage. dents. or dings. There are a few scratches on the front driver's fender that were touched up years ago. and they are shown in the photos below. On top of the hood. there is a small area where the paint was buffed through by the previous owner. it is hardly noticeable. but is the only major defect in the paint finish. There is a small area beneath the driver's door where the paint is starting to bubble. this may be rust or it could simply be poor prep-work causing some dis-adhesion. Otherwise this car is totally solid and the floors are very straight and unmolested. The interior is believed to be original upholstery still. The seats are firm and supportive with no tears or damage. The headliner is clean with no holes or rips. The dash is complete and all gauges function properly. I will note here that the mileage on the car is NOT actual. When we got the car it had a non-correct 1956 Dodge speedometer pod in it; we replaced it with a correct 1955 model. but due to this change. there is no way to know the car's actual mileage. That being said. the car presents as a very well preserved and cared for vehicle and it is believable that the car has very few miles overall. Engine is the 270ci Poly-head V8. and it always starts and runs fine. the transmission is the 2-speed automatic shifted from the dash and it shifts fine every time. No major drips/leaks and the car runs/drives just fine. The car has non-stock dual exhaust that sound great and have that typical 1950's raspy note. sure to turn heads!Overall. the car is a very well refurbished 1955 Dodge Hardtop. Not too many of these exist still. and this one is an excellent example! If you have any questions or concerns. simply message me and I will respond as quickly as possible. |
