Description of 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 |
|
This is very well preserved, rive it anywhere, owner Galaxie 500 Fastback. It has the 390ci 4-barrel V-8 with a 3-speed manual transmission. The engine was rebuilt in June of 2013 at Bennett Coachworks, LC in Milwaukee, I at a cost of $6,019. I have the owner's manual and the original "clear" title. Have $15,500 appraisal from before engine was rebuilt. The odometer is now 43001, ot believed to be original, ossibly 143,001, ut you would not think that. When the engine was rebuilt a new clutch, hrowout bearing, eater core, ertonic distributor and coil, oses, elts, ilters, tc. were also installed. In 2012 new tires and a brake master cylinder were installed. The options and features include power steering, kirts, lock, eater and an AM radio. It was sold new at Concord Motors in Concord, orth Carolina to a gentleman from Gold Hill, orth Carolina on October 4th, 965. It has the original seat covers and headliner. It runs smoothly. The transmission, lutch and shifter all perform properly. The VIN decodes as follows: 6= 1966, = Norfolk, irginia assembly plant, 6= Galaxie 500 Fastback, = 390ci 4-Barrel carburetor V-8, 01225= Production number. The Trim Tag decodes as follows; Body 63B= 2-Door Galaxie 500 Hardtop, olor K= Cark Blue Metallic, rim 62= Blue Vinyl Interior, ate 23H= Built 23rd Day of August, SO 22= Charlotte District, xle 1= 3:00.1, rans 1= 3-speed manual transmission. Lots of potential. No rust underneath. I kept it stock, ut I have seen many with Cragers, arb and other engine updates, convert to 4 on floor, tc. that look incredible! It has 2 very small paint bubbles that look exactly the same as when I acquired the car that are pictured. Item is for sale locally and I reserve right to end auction early. |
