I bought this truck to make a hot rod truck. I was looking for a rust free body for a start as had fought rust before and never won. So here is the story.I purchased this truck several years ago from a local teacher who had a friend who knew of this truck sitting in Wyoming in an old chicken coup (sorry, ot a barn find). He brought it down to Colorado, ut it in his garage for several years and realized he would never do anything with it.After getting it home and looking it over closely I found it to be really original. It shows 48000 miles and may be true, ut dont know. Engine was tight so pulled the heads and had the fatal crack in block between cylinder and valve seat, nd that is why they stopped driving it 30 or 40 years ago.Found a good running 49 engine and had a friend recondition it with rings, bearings, tc and transfered all original heads, pan, manifolds etc from 51 engine. It is a standard bore and crank sizes so could be built again in the future. I am not representing this as a completly rebuilt engine, ust freshened up and runs great for a stock old truck that i drive around town. We did put dual exhaust exiting down before the rear end.The original wood bed is still there but the wood is below average. The only rust is on the front stake pockets and in front of rear wheels on bed, ee pictures. Some of the pictures are hard to understand but they show the cab areas that don't even have the paint worn off. There is no clear coat on it. It has been waxed and buffed. I have seen some of the clears that are several years old and coming off and what a mess. Cleaned and painted some when reassembling and installing engine, ut kept the truck original. A few small dents in rear fenders and bed. No headliner or floor mats as after deciding not to cut the truck up i just wanted a fun driver with out spending a fortune. The rubber moldings are original and pretty dry. Glass is all good and original. Windows go up and down good. Has original key but does not work the door lock. Checked brakes and bearings and did some replacement as necessary.Just installed brand new 7:50 16 tires with the optional add on white wall inserts . I think they are cool but you can remove them if you want to. So now spring is coming and i still want a hot rod truck and need to get started and thats why it is for sale. Title is a Wyoming title and matches the frame and glovebox serial numbers as shown in pictures.I really want to talk to serious buyers. I am retired so call anytime. It is a 65 year old truck and mostly original. Would i drive it cross country? Probably not, ut not sure i would have driven it cross county when it was only 14 years old and i started driving. Is for sale locally so may end auction if i get a good offer. No reserve auction so have fun. I can store for a couple of months but it will be outside tarped. Thanks tom 303-243-0180
