Description of 1972 Ford F-250 Camper Special |
1972 Ford F250 Camper Special Sport Custom 390 Automatic 2wd This was an old ranch truck from Montana and has the look to prove it! I had it shipped to me in South Carolina before moving to Michigan a few months ago but it has never seen a saltyMichigan road. It has a strong 390, doesn't burn any oil, no smoking. The power steering and power brakes work great. I recently (within 50 miles) put in a new battery, starter and carburetor with electric choke. It starts right up, even after sitting over the winter. The wheels were just powder coated and wrapped with new 245/75R16 BF Goodrich All-Terrains. Camper Specials came with 1 ton frames with the 3/4 ton suspension. (Basically an F350 frame on an F250 suspension) Also, a second battery tray under the hood, along with a wiring harness that ran to the bed of the truck which allowed for a slide in camper to be hooked up for electrical usage. It has the 8 foot bed, bigger 390 engine, in cab CB radio speakers, built in tool box, mounting brackets on bed, dual gas tanks. The truck is extremely solid. There is one spot of rust on the passenger side front fender near the bottom. It is about the size of my thumb. Some surface rust on the underside but this truck is solid, ready to work. It was originally a manualtransmission truck but was converted to an automatic. The radio and horn do not work but my guess is that it is just a fuse. All the glass is good, all the lights work, doors open and close with ease. I just had the truck on the highway yesterday and it drove 80 mph with no issues at all. The absolute only reason that I'm listing it is that I don't have the garage space since I moved. I have four trucks and I just don't have the room to park them all inside. If you are in the Metro Detroit area, know someone who is or would like to come into town to see the truck and take it for a ride I'd love to show it to you. Please let me know ifyou have any questions, I'm happy toanswer them. The truck is being sold AS IS, with no warranties being expressed or implied. |
