Description of 1932 Ford Other |
For Sale: The Imperial Roadster The Imperial Roadster is a purpose built driver and Despite its radical appearance it is comfortable and reliable. It can and has been driven across state lines in a moments notice. Oh, and did I mention that its f@*#ing fast. The car has just finished a two year shake down in bare metal and it is ready for paint. Still working out a few kinks with the rear suspension but that will be resolved before the sale. Why am I selling such an awesome car you ask? Well, I’m more of a kustom guy and this was my first hot rod build. Turns out I’m not really a hot rod guy. I like low and slow this thing is loud and scary. This car is registered as a 1932 Ford My lose your gain. See below for a few details. Message me for more details. The sheet metal: Started life as a Brookville body. The rear wheel wells have been sectioned and the rear wheels kicked up to create a low slung look. The cowl has been reinforced with a pinkees rod shop pedal assembly. The windshield and top are Rodwell. The front lights are original 1936 ford with a relief cut out of the left side for steering mechanism and the rear lights are 37 ford with custom stems to hide the wiring. Custom rear lower tray. 32 grill shell with super cool fan shroud. I do have a hood top that has been hemmed in really nicely. The Chassis: Chassis fabrication was done by pinkees rod shop. 1932 boxed rails have been sectioned two inched to create a custom channeled look. The rear is kicked up several inches and the height is fully adjustable. The rear suspension is a super cool quarter elÃpticals with split wishbones as trailing arms. Up front the perch plate and radiator mount run in front of the shortened horns to allow the 4†dropped drilled axle to run in front of the chassis and behind the radiator shell. It all makes for a stock looking car that runs much lower with a nicer stance. The Drive Train: The reason you want this car is that amazing engine siting at the front like a nice set of hooters sticking out of a low cut dress. Starting from the top, the carbs are brand new 97’s that are dialed in perfectly via a direct linkage. The air filter is a one of a kind custom machined piece. The carbs sit on an extremely rare 4x2 cragar intake. this intake was built for a much earlier hemi which had the water crossover at the intake. The water inlets have been sealed off with aluminum. The block and heads are original 392 Hemi out of a 57 New Yorker. The cylinders have been all resleeved 40 over. All machine work done at Fearman Racing in Houston. The cam is close to stock with a slight lope to give a little more low end power. The valve covers are hard to find Imperial covers with fresh chrome. The water cross over has been moved up to the radiator to clean up the appearance of the engine. All front runner components are from Hot Heads. The exhaust is a custom built stainless header with spiral baffles and turn outs. It all makes close to 400 hp at the fly wheel. The trans is a TKO 500 that easily takes the engines power and is super smooth at hiway speed. Out back is a super cool halibrand V8 quick change. Steering: Schroeder Sprint Car steering Wheels: Rocket Racing with Dow 7 finish Dash: One of a kind machined instrument panel, Classic instrument gauges, machined housing for tach on the steering column, aluminum cast switch housing and shifter by crafty B. hanging pedal assembly and cantilever brake pedal by pinkees. Custom upholstery by Rusty Rods Fuel System: Custom gas tank located behind the seat. Quiet Holley HP 125 electric pump with Holley Billet filters.
