Description of 1940 Ford Deluxe Sedan

This 1940 Ford Tudor Deluxe Sedan is a fully upgraded machine that also like to keep its vintage flair. So while they made investments in the V8 power, suspension, and A/C interior, there's also that unmistakable look of playing to your nostalgia with its bright chrome and glossy paint.

The Tudor body has a fastback sort of style that looks absolutely classic while still having a modern sporty appeal. So the burgundy paint works perfectly with this car's timeless appeal. It's a color that looks right for the 1940s, but it also has the deep gloss of a fresher clearcoat application. This well-presented style centers around the car's full frame-off restoration from about 20 years ago, and when you pay for quality, it lasts. After all, that's classic steel from the Henry Ford era, but you know it never looked this good leaving Dearborn. You'll love the details, like the shine of the hallmark pointed grille. The chrome bumpers and stainless trim have the kind of shine that shows there's been some real care. Plus, there's plenty of great street machine touches, like the half-chrome headlights, bright dual exhaust tips, and the classic American Racing Torq Thrust wheels with iconic wide whitewalls.

The tan interior has more of that timeless appeal, and it looks especially good against the burgundy exterior. So we're glad they painted the door tops and dash to match the outside. More of this thoughtful layout is in how the seating has a classic 1940s style but feels unmistakably fresh from a proper investment. And those four-lines that accent the upholstery are repeated on the doors for a very uniform look throughout. An upgraded classic like this is great to share with family and friends, and there's cold-blowing air conditioning to keep them all happy. Even the glass was replaced during the restoration. This also has some of the best driver upgrades with a Lecarra sports steering wheel mounted on a tilt column, a Lokar floor shifter, an upgraded set of crisp VDO gauges, and a SunPro tach under the dash.

Since the rest of the car is built to show off, you'll be happy to see the engine bay is, too. That Chevy 350 cubic-inch V8 has been given plenty of shine on the polished air cleaner, valve covers, pulleys, and plenty of other components. This quality appearance further proves the careful work on this car. In fact, this small block was rebuilt during the restoration, including new pistons and rings. It's also got the performance substance of an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and shorty headers. This well-built V8 makes a nice rumble out of the dual exhaust. And as you check out those pipes in the undercarriage photos, you see more of the clean work that goes into a total restoration. You may also spot nice upgrades, like the Heidts independent front suspension and the Chassis Engineering rear suspension. So you'll be happy to take this solid classic out cruising any time, especially features like power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a three-speed automatic transmission.

The sale comes complete with title documentation and classic Ford literature. This is the upgraded Ford that loves its history. So if you love to drive and love pre-war nostalgia, you know this one is exactly right for you. Call today!!!
