It was ordered as a 'Dealer Demonstrator' to showcase the high end options Ford thought people would prefer. From the 429 Cobra Jet Ram Air'J' Engine Code to the Bucket Seats & Console to the Hideaway Headlampoption it really is a Super Desirable GT. The mileage on the odometer, currently 66,077 is reported to be the original. A paper tag was still affixed to the C6 transmission, something we have never seen in over 2,000 muscle cars, check it out in the pics. The condition of the body is quite nice. The panels are very straight and rust free, the paint has seen some touch ups but shows nicely...allattesting to a life well lived. The only sign of rust was a repair around the drain on the driver's quarter drop off. The floors still wear much of their original red oxide paint and the frame rail supports appear to be undamaged. The trunk floors and package tray are extremely good examples of the breed. Even the firewall and cowl are amazing on this car. The chrome trim & brightwork are in good condition, too.The interior has seen some recent work (new front seat upholstery & headliner) but remains largely original. Obviously there will be some wear on the original parts, but the presentation is quite nice. The seats are quite comfortable and the upholstery fit nicely.Under the hood the 429CJ is the original numbers matching engine. It was recently rebuilt, these cars had piston issues due to detonation with low octane gas. The engine fires up easily and runs excellent. The C6 automatic is correct with its cast iron tailshaft housing and R servo. Out back the 'N' case is still in place with its 3 L 00 tag and 31 spline axles. This GT was optioned with Power Steering and Power Disc Brakes that are still in place and work nicely. This car is easy & interesting to drive for people of nearly any driving experience. Stopping is easy & predictable. The steering is easy enough for tight parking but still gives nice feedback. The Hideaway headlights work properly as do the other lights & signals. The factory 14" wheels & hubcaps are included with the car but the new rolling stock makes the car dramatically better looking and gives some extra grip for the CJ. The Magnums are 15 x 7's with 235 60's BFG's in front & 255 60's in the rear.We received the Original Window Sticker AND Sales Invoice with the car. These are the original documents, not reproductions or copies. Also included is the original title application and a Marti Report verifying the docs. For Transport we recommend Mike's Discount Auto Transport.
