Description of 1964 International Harvester Scout red carpet edition |
Up for auction is a Red Carpet Edition Scout, of which only 3000 were ever produced and maybe ? still exist in any condition. See the pictures for the only rust hole I could find. The second hole is from an amateur welder who burned a hole in the kick panel. The paint is all original inside. The outside paint shows some repainted areas as well as other areas with cheap spray paint. Maybe it could be buffed off? There is roughly $2700 in new parts from IH America. Mostly suspension, steering, front disc brakes, duel master cylinder and tie rods. A new OEM carb $356, new wheels and tires$760, and misc. bits and pieces at $588. Lights and original AM radio work. The truck really would jump in value with a total refresh and be a blast to drive on the farm or around town. If you feel you need a pic of something special please ask. Needs: Exhaust system, tune up after that.new upholsteryWould be good idea to install new wire harness.new door hinges, window sweeps, interior door handles (some will come in the new parts boxes)restore all dash functions. some not working. I feel this truck is worth $8500 all day long. It took my 4 years to find one this clean. Very sad to have to sell. If you pull the choke and pump the gas 3 times she always starts. Reserve will be close to that. Clean clear title. Originally purchased from Arizona. I can help load on carrier at this end. |
