Description of 1979 Jeep Cherokee S

Up for your consideration is a 1979 Jeep Cherokee S. If you know anything about these full size Jeeps you know that they are getting harder and harder to find. It has a AMC 360 with 60. 73 original miles with a 3 speed TH400 transmission and the Quadratrac transfer case w/ low range. Quadratrac is a full time 4wd with an "Emergency" selection that locks in the center differential. Motor runs good. but will need some carb adjustments or possibly a carb rebuild. Drives down the lane good. unsure on any speed above 20 MPH because I have not taken it on the highway. Oil pressure is good. charges good and runs out pretty good. Starts on first couple cranks every time. Brakes will need to be redone as there is a hole in one of the hard lines off the master cylinder. Brakes do not currently work because of this leak. Radiator is new. battery is new. new plugs and wires and a fresh oil/filter change. Gas tank is currently out of it and will need to be cleaned and lined before reinstalling. new plastic tanks are available through BJ's Off Road if it is not something you want to fool with. Currently has a small tank in the engine compartment that motor will run off of. Rear window motor does work and will move the back window up and down slowly. Access panel is also included. but is not on the vehicle at this time. Interior carpet is shot and will need to be replaced once the floorboard issues are fixed. Seats are in great shape and have no tears or cuts. Seats would probably clean up nicely with a little elbow grease. Has factory FM radio that works great. Wheels are the slotted aluminum wheels. They are in great shape other than a couple small scratches. Polished up extremely well. All tires hold air. but are old and will need to be replaced. Below are the good and bad areas of the body. New body and patch panels are available from BJ's Off Road along with many other parts. GoodPaint on the areas that are not rusted.
