Description of 1965 Land Rover Other |
Relatively rust free Land Rover Series IIA. This vehicle is in project state but well worthy of some sort of rebuild/restoration. The body has great southwest patina to it as it spent a good deal of its life in New Mexico. The only rust in it that I have found is in the passenger side footwell, bove the passenger and drivers footwell and a few minor holes in the rear crossmember. A skilled welder and fabricator can have them repaired in a days time. The vehicle is missing its engine but was originally a diesel. Nothing has been done to change that. The transmission shifts through the gears quite easily while sitting. From what I can tell it is missing the engine, adiator and heater assembly. The body does have a good deal of nicks and dings but does not have any large dents. The aluminum is in very good condition and has no evidence of salt or galvanic corrosion. The frame also shows no signs of salt damage or northern winter type of deterioration. Also included are a set of five 16" tires and wheels from a 70's Land Rover Series 3. This will help in lowering engine speed at highway speeds and also enhance the offroad experience. There are a few boxes of miscellaneous engine parts but nothing big. Also the three shifter knobs and replacement lenses for the rear lights. Front glass lenses for the passenger side are in one of the boxes. As there was no choice for this, he vehicle does not have a title and is being sold as-is under bill of sale. This is a great project for someone who has a rusty Rover or an inexpensive start to a quality build. |
