Description of 1987 Land Rover Defender |
Rare 1987 Land Rover Defender 110 wagon with upgraded 300tdi turbo diesel engine. Clear Colorado title. 5 speed manual right hand drive. New custom interior and carpet. New high output turbo and intercooler, 6 Inch Skyjacker Suspension Lift, Pro Comp Shocks, 6000 lb winch. Many other new and rebuilt parts. (See list below) VIN SALLDHMB7BA305248 Last compression tested (Jan 2014) by British Car Service in LA- the engine runs very strong and will cruise at 65-70mph. Incredible gas mileage and amazing torque on rebuilt 300tdi Turbo Diesel engine- not the original 200tdi. This truck is right hand drive and turns heads at every stoplight- but will off-road like few machines out there. The interior has been completely redone in black with red trim accents. Body needs some light cosmetic work like window rubber and small trim details. Small rock chip in window drivers side which has cracked but fixable. Body panels are straight (for a 30 year old truck with aluminum riveted panels), the chassis and frame are solid except for the typical 110 problem areas which are the outriggers, bumper attachment points, and rear bumper face which show a few spots of rust and corrosion- however, all of these parts can be readily purchased in the USA and replaced WITHOUT removing frame. This truck has a few typical 110oil drips. Currently tuned for sea level operation. This is not a perfect 110 but a very solid, beautiful truck, and runs extremely well- and looks amazing. Most things have been replaced and/or rebuilt within the last few years. I have kept it mostly parked and just used for fun road trips etc . Most recent the water pump and belt, rebuilt wiring harness and rebuilt transmission and transfer case, also replaced the dashboard with NAS Defender panel. Plus new tires 4/15/15 Falken Wild Peak (only put on approx 2500miles road trip to Colorado and back plus to Mammoth last summer) Named "THE SEXY BEAST" The list below is all done within the last few years.
