Description of 1968 Mercury Monterey convertible

1968 Mercury Monterey convertible.I was told by the previous owner that Woody Hayes drove this vehicle for some time at Ohio State (faculty sticker on window) . A Complete frame off restoration was done 6000 miles ago. Professionally Rebuilt original 390, barrel carburetor, 6 automatic rebuilt as well. This car is one of 1515 ever built. Just about everything on the car is new or replaced with OEM, OS or rebuilt. Nice white top with zip out rear glass. Strong top motor. Everything is factory except the Wheel, tereo and exhaust. I will include the factory wheels, hite walls and hubcaps.
I have owned this since 1996. The restoration took 7 years and included replacing the frame which had rust at the torque boxes. The factory 390 and trans were rebuilt, eplaced and polished nearly all trim, mblems, rt seat upholstery, echroming bumpers, ou name it. The car is painted base clear Ford Vermillion red. Completely wet sanded and polished. There was no rust on the body panels when i got it, ut had to patch the rear floor and trunk pan. These where patched not replaced.Little if any body filler. Nice set of BFGoodrich Radial T/As on polished Torque Thrusts. After market stereo. This car is Just beautiful!
