1956 Mercury Montclair Hardtop Sedan Brown RWD Automatic Phaeton

1956 Mercury Montclair 4 door Phaeton hardtop. Car is complete, but needs full restoration.This car was the top of the line for Ford. The 4 door hardtp Phaeton is longer, more sleek and harder to come by. It comes with the 312 Y block V8. The largest and most rare of the Y blocks that was a special order on the T-Bird, but standard on the Montclair. These engines are hard to come by unmolested. The engine is complete, but froze and will need a rebuild. This particular engine does have the improved Carter 4bbl carburetor, rather than the Holly “teapots” that were so problematic. And was rated at 225hp.This car has power brakes and power steering. All trim is either on or in the car.The body has rust through behind both rear fenders and under both headlights. Floor pans seem solid from under the car and all the components are present.These cars are valuable and are seen listed for 30k and much more some without drivetrain overhauls. Especially this model. This car is not priced for yard art, but is reasonable listed for restoration. Title and bill of sale come with the car.
