Description of 1960 MG MGA 1960 MGA 1600 ROADSTER. IRIS BLUE. JUST OUT OF 40 YEAR STORAGE.

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this exciting discovery just out of 40 years of indoor storage. This two-owner, Black-Plate, California MGA Roadster was tucked away in 1980 due to an ignition problem and has been stored since. The seller purchased the car with her father in 1962 and drove it for the following 18 years. This car includes a host of original items such as a full tool kit, original jack and handle, period spares, old registrations, pair of original CA license plates, and the original 1962 title.The body on this car is completely rustfree, honest, and quite straight. There are a few light scrapes here and there and a largish soft dent in the front LH fender. The seller had the car modestly repainted at one point in it's life. Panel gaps look excellent all the way around with very nice door fit, sometimes a problem on MGa's. There is no rust or bubbling anywhere, with the car still retaining it's perfect original rear dogleg area and rocker panels. Grille fit is very good. The car still retains it's original Triplex windshield (cracked). Chromework looks all original and ready for easy replate.The interior in the car is weather shot but original, still retaining it's original leather seats, spare wheel bag (front and back), some carpets, top frame, sidecurtain set, stowage bag, etc.The car's correct 1600cc engine is currently stuck from sitting. We have removed the plugs and are currently soaking the bores with penetrant. It may free up with some patience. It ran perfectly when put to bed 40 years ago...The engine bay is very original and untouched, still retaining it's original radiator and cap, air cleaners, VIN plate, engine number plate, plug wire set, washer bottle, etc.The car's underside looks untouched, bone dry, and completely rot free.Overall, an amazingly well-preserved 1600 Roadster in great colors with a superb California history. This gem of an original MGA could be improved very easily into a driving, roadworthy survivor or is the perfect beginning for a total, ground-up, nut and bolt, Concours rebuild.
