Description of 1950 Other Makes Sport 8 coupe Facel

Very Early 1950 Simca Sport 8 Coupe. Build #150. Vin# 890172..Alloy Body with alloy trunk and steel Doors, Hood and top. This car was a show car from the 1950's. Believe to be originally modified by Roger Barlow's International Motors. Hood Scoop with trim exactly the same as the modified Barlow Convertibles of the time. See picture. Many custom features. Shown at Palm Springs Concours 1951. Still has the original dash plaque. Stainless steel side trim, Cable release trunk, and non locking gas door. It has 4 freshly rebuilt by, Valley Wire wheel, Robergal wire wheels, with extremely rare hubcaps. The car features a 5 bearing Rush Motor with alloy finned valve cover and 4 speed floor shift transmission. Believed to be part of the Hill and Vaughn collection of the 1980's. It was in a warehouse fire. All windows shattered and interior scorched. I have replaced all glass except for the center rear section. I have a later Sport 9 rear glass that can be cut to fit. Included. The car is complete. including all the super rare stainless trim items. Rear license plate surround, Front grill Badge bar, and Stainless Headlight trim rings. Stainless Front and rear bumpers with Stainless Bumper mount covers. Has the correct Marchal Headlights with Marchal center bar. ( expensive)The floors had rust, see picture, I cut out bad sections and made templates to cut new metal. Will also need rocker panels rust repaired. The rest of the car is solid.
These cars competed in the Mille Miglia and the Rallye Monte Carlo 1952-53. see picture.
Definitely a worthwhile restoration less than 10 know survivors in the USA.
