The bodyis in excellent condition and presents very well. Therewere small repairs done near each headlight and on the left side of the car. There are two spots where paint has been polished through over the years. The chrome is very good with therear bumper being re-chromed at some point. The interior of the car is in excellent original condition with a small tear in the front seat on the drivers side. The dash and steering wheel are perfect. All gauges and lights function, ven the clock works. Under the hood the car remains original except for maintenance items such as belts, oses, lugs and wires. The carburetor was recently rebuilt and a new battery installed. Mechanically the brakeswere just serviced withnew wheel cylinders installed and a professionally rebuilt/sleeved master cylinder. Below isan excerpt provided by the long time previous owner of the car... " I purchased this 1947 Packard model 2126 Custom Clipper (7) Passenger Sedan in 1978. It has the highest serial number recorded to still be in existence today, f the mere 1600 produced for the 1947 model year. The coachwork was by the Henney Motor Company of Freeport, llinois, major producer of hearses, mbulances and limousines. This car was built on Packard's 148 inch wheelbase chassis with Packard's 356 cubic inch nine (9) main bearing straight eight (8) engine. It would be very difficult to find a 1947 Packard as original and as clean as this car. It is a CCCA full classic, ligible for shows and tours. It runs and drives very well with virtually every feature and light working on the car. For questions please contact Mike at cincyboathouse@gmail.com. The car is advertised locally and the listing may be ended if the car is sold. |
