Description of 1940 Packard 1806

This Packard 180 was first introduced in 1940 and was Packard's top of the line vehicle. This was their replacement for the V12 models which had been used in previous years. The new design received a 356cc inline 8-cylinder engine which was able to produce an astounding 160hp. This would be claimed as the strongest 8-cylinder in the market at that time and Packard had placed a firm foothold in the realm of performance and Luxury. With a 110, 20, 60 and 180 series, he body styles were all very similar, he 180 was esteemed as the most luxurious as it hosted exquisite interior detailing, ncluding wood trim and vanities. Its lush carpets and superior fabrics fitted to its interior were presented in a prestigious manner. Out of all of the 1900 Packard 180's built, ot many were similar with the 10 various body styles that were offered for that model alone. Each one was custom to its own rare and unique specifications and although the custom body era was drawing to a close shortly after that year, ackard kept a line of catalogued custom offerings.
